Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - The Mysterious Lady

James was now worried to find the 'lady' fainted again. He glared at black and spoke out his thoughts, "Black, You need to hold back when dealing with a lady."

Black looked at James dumbfounded and said after a few seconds, "What is the difference between a lady and a person, master?"

James had no choice but to facepalm himself and mutter slowly, "My house may be ruthless but stupid!"

There was no point to bother with black regarding human morality or gender diversity because he could not understand it quickly.

The only way was to make him smart was to let it experience himself. He only ordered him to carry her again towards the treatment room.

Before they could turn around, Alita glared at black with fiery eyes. She had seen everything that happened in the hallway.

Black was slowly developing, so he didn't have much IQ. Even if he had no sense of fear, but he could feel a chill running down to his roots when Alita was glaring at him.

Black submitted the lady's body in front of Alita for another inspection. Alita inspected her body like earlier she treated James, but there were no hidden dangers that threatened her life.

She ordered black to carry the lady to her room. To avoid another misunderstanding, black bound her limbs with roots that released the weight of a heavy concrete wall.

Alita placed her hand on the lady's head and muttered, "Awake." which made a green light blinding everyone present in the room.

She seemed weak after the green light disappeared. It was clearly visible how much energy it took to wake up the lady lying in room.

James immediately placed her on the wooden chair made by Black in a flash.

Her condition was similar to an athlete who was drained off their stamina.

She sat on the chair and said to James, "I just need some rest, and I'll be fine."

James replied, "Next time, don't push yourself too much." with a caring tone.

She nodded with a red face, but there was no way to cover it due to the fatigue in her body.

The tied up lady made a waking up gesture that alerted black.

James stood in front of the lady's body and looked at her face. There was a bump on her head that was Black's doing.

She woke up and tried to pounce over James as soon as her eyes opened. She couldn't muster any strength due to her immovable situation. After struggling for a few seconds, her fists ignited again.

The flames didn't harm the tree barks on her hands, as they were mixed with the properties of both metal and concrete.

James spoke to her face while closing the distance between them, "Who are you and where are you from?" with a serious expression.

The lady scoffed at him and said, "You have already killed my people, so why pretend? Just kill me!"

"Wait… Who killed whom? What the hell are you talking about?" James questioned her.

"I think there has been a misunderstanding here." added James.

After listening to his response, she paused for a few seconds and said, "Don't try to act smart! I know that the general is behind all this. He killed brave soldiers just for his stupid nephew's death." while her eyes had turned reddish and tears started to drop from them.

The roots that hung her released her with ease and gently put on the floor.

Looking at the tearful lady, James gave her a handkerchief to wipe her tears.

She slapped his hand, refusing the handkerchief, and wiped the tears with her sleeves. After wiping off the tears, she noticed her clothes being different and remembered that they were not her.

"You-You!!! How dare you!? From whose permission did you touch my body!?" she exclaimed, looking at James while her fiery first reached the sleeves and started burning them.

"No, dear! You're getting the wrong idea. I and the lady on that chair dressed you up so that we could treat your injuries." said James' mother, who was pointing at Alita.

The fire on her hands extinguished, and she asked with a doubtful expression, "How did I end up here?" to James.

James pointed at black and spoke, "He found you unconscious on the street outside the neighborhood. If not for him, you would already be a rotting piece of meat or feast for the zombies."

"I-I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm Jasmine and I came from the military shelter at the outskirts of the city." Jasmine apologized while answering the previous questions.

"James. Nice to meet you, miss Jasmine. Can you tell about the general whom you're talking about!?" asked James with a smile on his face.

"I'm sorry, I have to return to the shelter…" she paused when her eyes became teary again.

James offered the handkerchief again, it was accepted by Jasmine, who was crying nonstop.

"What's the point? He will just punish me for his bastard nephew's death. My whole team was wiped out because of that jerk. I will kill that bastard with my both hands." she added while sitting cross-legged, wiping her tears.

James' mother hugged her and started caressing her with a warm smile on her face. She advised her, "Child, have some rest, and then you can tell us what happened to you."

Jasmine's eyes were now drooling with tears, and she hugged James' mother back.

She asked with a shy tone, "Can I really…" before she could complete her sentence, James' mother replied, "Yes, you can." and took her to the guest room upstairs.

Everyone was followed by them to the guest room. Jasmine fell asleep in guest room.

Everyone looked at James' mother coming out of the guest room and gave a thumbs up to her.

Black was ordered to monitor the guest room and stood at the ground just like a statue.

He didn't budge and thought about the recent happenings. Furthermore, he realised that from now on he would not throw a lady.
