Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - I'm Running Away

Matt has finally decided to book a ticket away from all the bullshit he's witnessed back home. Weary from his long travel he arrived at the Airbnb he's booked with anticipation of a quiet retreat. As he entered, he saw a figure of a person on the kitchen area leaving him bewildered and suspicious. Shocked and initially angered, his mind raced with thoughts of a potential scam or theft. But with tired eyes and exhaustion from the travel he let go of the bad thought thinking it might just be his imagination then continue heading towards his bedroom to take a goodnight rest.

When he woke up the next day, he search for his phone on the bedside table and look at the clock. His wallpaper was that of his ex girlfriend Lyanna whom he loved for 5yrs. He let out a heavy sigh, memories started flowing and the pain in his heart has emerged once again.

He stared at the ceiling for a few minutes before he collects his thoughts and decided to go on for the day. He took a quick shower. When he finished, he looked himself in the bathroom mirror, a disheartened man gazes at his own reflection. His eyes, once filled with warmth, now betray traces of sorrow from the recent breakup. The change is stark.

The once neatly groomed beard now appears unkempt, embodying the neglect that has seeped into his life. Dark circles under his eyes bear witness to sleepless nights spent grappling with emotions. The glow that once adorned his face has dulled, replaced by a weariness that reflects the toll of heartbreak.

The absence of care is palpable, and the disarray of his hair once meticulously styled, now hangs disheveled and lackluster. The smile on his face are now change with a subdued sadness.

Dressed in a simple white vneck shirt that hangs loosely, offered a relaxed contrast to his demeanor. He grab one of his tattered navy blue jeans then he decided to go out to get something for breakfast. He opens the door and navigates his suites lobby, ready to go on whatever awaits him outside the door.

When he stepped outside he was captivated by the picturesque view of the ocean meeting the shore, so blue and so calm as the cold breeze of the wind lightly kisses his face. His eyes wander, drawn to a young woman in a white floral dress gracefully hanging freshly washed bedsheets on a line.

The young woman, bathed in the soft glow of sunlight, radiates a quiet charm as she hangs the bedsheets. Her movements are graceful and there's an effortless beauty in the way she tends to the task. She has a long wavy brown hair that falls down to her waist. The sun-kissed tendrils of hair on her face together with her glowing smile feels so light that made him somehow forgot how he was in pain awhile ago. The combination of the coastal backdrop and her enchanting presence creates an image of warmth and tranquility. As their eyes meet, she offers a friendly smile and inquires about his day.

"Hello there Mister! How's your day going? Have you had breakfast yet?" she asks with a smile while walking towards him.

Her hair was flown softly by the wind. And when she's close enough he could see clearer the beauty this girl has. Such lightness and warm aura. Her facial structure is a harmonious blend of delicate features. Dimpled rosy cheeks that lends a subtle cuteness to her visage complementing the gentle curve of her jawline. Cute refined nose, and thin pink supple lips that adds more to the overall symmetry of her face. She has a hazel brown tantalizing eyes and a framed slender arched eyebrows. The morning sunlight plays upon her features, highlighting the natural glow on her skin and with her petite stature adding a touch of enchantment to her presence.

"I'm Elise, by the way. Nice to meet you!" Her warmth and openness creates a pleasant connection between the two.

"Matt." He replied timidly.

"I'm the housekeeper here. I see you're going somewhere and I believe you booked this suite for the entire month right?"

Still in the midst of his own thoughts he responds with a mix of contemplation and a hint of uncertainty. His words carry the weight of a decision yet to be made, revealing a vulnerability as he grapples with the idea of prolonging his time in the island.

"Yes, maybe I'll extend but I don't know for sure yet.."

"Great! Lemme know when you change your mind." she smiles

"--and do you want to rent a motorbike? It's hard strolling the island without one. I could recommend you one from a friend, that's if you know how to ride one?" she added.

His face lights up with a hesitant yet genuine smile as the offer of a rental motorbike is extended to him. After a moment of consideration, he nods in agreement expressing his gratitude. The prospect of exploring the island on a motorbike brings a spark of joy to his eyes, transforming his earlier timidity into a sense of anticipation and eagerness for the adventures that lie ahead. Maybe this will help him forget just a little, maybe this will let him take control of the painful and miserable situation he is now.

"Okay, thank you Elise!" he replied with a smile.

"If ever you need anything, I'm living just right there." she pointed a little house with a vibrant green color at the most corner of the resort.

"There is a walkie-talkie on the suite, the owner is fond of them instead of actual phones. Here let me show you for a quick second if that's okay with you?" her face beams with such enthusiasm.

"Okay" he replied.

He opens the door to his suite and with a gracious gesture, the girl becomes a welcoming guide, leading him to his suite. Her movements are fluid, and she effortlessly narrates the features of the space with a touch of enthusiasm. Her eyes light up as she describes the scenic views from the window.

The warmth in her voice and the genuine interest in ensuring his comfortable stay create an atmosphere of hospitality, making Matt feel not just like a guest but a welcomed part of the island retreat.

In the suite, she points out the well-stocked fridge filled with an array of refreshments and suggests him to try the local delicacy. The microwave, tucked neatly in the corner stands ready for convenience. As they step into the bathroom, she highlights the modern amenities, emphasizing the soothing ambiance of the rainfall shower then hands him over the walkie-talkie, explaining its use for easy communication during his stay.

"That's all of it, so if you need anything I'm just a walkie talkie away." she giggled.

"Thank you Elise, I've never felt good for a long time now. You sure are a good person." his tone filled with utmost sincerity.

"Oh no problem at all we treat each guest here as a family and don't forget to leave a 5 star and a good review after your stay okay?" she replied smiling.
