Days after the Theocracy and the Church of Humanity had been wiped off the map, Tempest held a city wide meeting to discuss their plans moving forwards.
Alright! Everyone let's settle down!
Right, I, Tempest, Leader of New Ottawa call this meeting to order! Today we will be discussing our plans moving forwards. Right to start things off, We are officially signing treaties with the Kingdom of Ashfeld and the Demon Kingdom. The Elven Kingdom has already signed treaties with us but they will be present at this meeting. With all that in mind, we need to get everything ready for their arrival as well as have food worth of a treaty signing. Blades, I'm going to have you and your master chefs handle the cooking. Sirs Scott and Archie, the last two immediate family of the Ghost, you will be present at this meeting as well. Noblemen Kenji, anything to add?
Well, we need to help putting up the decorations you have delivered to us. Might we get a crew willing to help with that?
Overlord, would you and your team be...
I decline Tempest.
Decline? Why?
The Overlord puts down the ink pen he was using and stands up in front of everyone.
I know things have finally calmed down enough, but is this what we're going to do from now on? Entertain kings, host festivals while there is a bigger issue at hand?
What is this issue?
The Ghost of Ottawa did his best in bringing us to get us here. The infection that destroyed our homes has held onto our homes, our city long enough. Lady Juno, please tell them about Project X.
Normally, I would've brought this to your attention Tempest, but the Overlord asked me to make this specifically for him. Project X is actually Specimen X, which is a chemical that will remove Specimen Z from the air, water and plant life of our home back inside the barrier. However, it is unable to kill the Infected, but from what I've gathered, the Overlord wants to go... Home.
The rooms erupts in murmurs and gossip about this. None of them had even considered going home, but now it seems that it could be a reality.
Overlord, there is a chain of command that needs to be followed, but that's besides the point. It doesn't kill the infected nor does it harm the cryptid creatures the Nazis forced through the barrier.
I know that, but with a team ready, we will hop from island to island, reclaiming everything!
Enough! I don't what to here another word of this!
NO! Tempest, these nations you want us to ally with are horse and buggy compared to us! We had jets, tv, air conditioning and so much more! Why are we so eager to please them when we can reclaim our home!
Overlord, you are out of order. Sit down or I will have the guards remove you.
Why? Is this not about the future?
The Ghost wanted us to keep everyone alive! Why the hell would we go back? It is certain death back there. End of discussion.
As the meeting continues, some of the New Ottawans had made up their minds and leave the meeting.
Where are you all going?
We're tired of serving these people who are technologically inferior to us! We're getting packed and ready to leave. Overlord, Lots and many others stand with you.
I thank you, however, my goal is not to leave here on bad terms. Tempest, will you allow volunteers who wish to go, to try and reclaim our homeland?
Tempest sighs and covers their face with their hands. Come by my office an hour after the meeting ends. You will have my decision then.
Alright. Everyone, sit back down.
As they sit, the meeting resumes. It continues for another hour then everyone is dismissed. Tempest and the other committee members head into Tempest's office to discuss the Overlord's plan.
Juno, tell me the logistics.
They will be up against heavily stacked odds not in their favor. It's not wise, but I believe they could accomplish it if they were to take it slowly.
Juno, you can't be serious. started the Watcher. They will die and that's opposite of what the Ghost wanted!
Enough. Juno if you can give me a survival percentage that's above one percent, I'll permit them to leave. Watcher, think this through. This could be beneficial for everyone! We could break the barrier down fully once their mission has succeeded! We could get good from back home and trade with them things they can only get here! It won't be overnight, but the Ghost wanted us to succeed, so if that percentage is above one percent, they are permitted to go.
That means we'll need a replacing noble for the Eastern District.
I'll ask the Overlord if he has any ideas on who would be a good replacement.
As members leave the office, Overlord enters the room to find Juno and Tempest going over figures, he adjusts his shirt then sits down, eager to hear the verdict of the future.
