Emma and Alexis, two best friends since childhood, shared a love for all things thrilling and suspenseful. They were always drawn to games that tested their courage and wit, and they would often spend hours playing them together.
Their bond was unbreakable, and they were known as the dynamic duo among their group of friends. They had been through thick and thin together, and their friendship only grew stronger with each passing day.
One day, during the summer holiday, Emma and Alexis came up with an idea for a game that would push the limits of fear and excitement. They called it the 'Red Room Game'. In this game, participants would have to find hidden objects in a dark room, decorated predominantly in red.
The idea was simple yet brilliant. Emma and Alexis spent days perfecting the game, making sure that every detail was just right. Their hard work paid off when they finally unveiled the game to their friends. It quickly became a hit among their group, and they couldn't get enough of it.
Years went by and Emma and Alexis, now in their early twenties, decided to play the "Red Room Game" just for old times' sake. They choose a vacant mansion rumored to be haunted, known as the Redwood House, as the location for their game. Nothing felt out of sorts when they looked through multiple empty rooms to decide which could they use.
After setting up all previously used decorations and objects, Emma and Alexis sent out invitations to their friends and started to get ready for their meeting. Everyone was excited to play and spend the rest of the night in the local club.
As they began to explore the room, the atmosphere turned tense and eerie quite quickly and they all felt a cold chill in the air.
With each passing minute Emma started noticing strange occurrences, finding more and more red objects in the room. Alarmed, she warned Alexis to be cautious, but she brushed off her concerns as mere part of the thrill.
Suddenly, Alexis collapsed in the middle of the game, uttering the chilling words, "Watch out for all the red stuff in the room!" Saying that, Emma's best friend stopped breathing in her arms. Everyone stopped what they were doing and rushed to help.
Emma was terrified and tried to wake her up, but unsuccessfully. She felt numb. Numb as a cold rock in the Northen stream. "My friend is gone!" She screamed in her mind while tears were flowing down her cheeks. "And for what?! For some stupid game we invented few years ago when we were bored out of our minds."
Meanwhile their friends frantically were searching the room, finding more and more red objects scattered throughout what weren't put there by the duo. Panic was starting to set in and Emma realized that this game is not just a harmless challenge anymore in this place, but a dangerous and potentially deadly one.
They desperately were trying to find a way out of the room, but the door was locked and there seemed to be no other way out. Suddenly one of friends noticed a small red button hidden behind a bookshelf. With no other options, she pressed it, hoping for the best. To their relief, the door unlocks and they rushed out of the mansion like someone was chasing them, dragging Alexis with them.
They all collapsed outside, gasping for air and trying to make sense of what just happened. Luckily after some tense minutes Emma noticed shallow breathing in Alexis and soon colour started to return in her face.
They were so relieved Alexis was fine and they all were out of the haunted mansion alive that the vow to never play such dangerous games again was made there and then.
