Abandoned in the Feng Clan's underground dungeons, Zou Jiayi sighed heavily. The deranged old man who was shackled in the same cell as him quietened down and submitted to slumber.
His arms were suspended above his head which caused them to ache from the strain of an uncomfortable position. However, before he could attempt to forcefully break free of his bounds, a shimmering light appeared at the other end of the cell bars.
"Xuan Hu?" Zou Jiayi's head perked up, finally escaping his boredom as the Mystic Fox let out a small rumble from its throat and settled on its rear. "We left you in the carriage, how did you get all the way here?"
The Mystic Fox only rumbled again in response, easily slipping through the bars and approaching Zou Jiayi. It trotted up to his shoulder, emitting a lavender glow from its body which erupted in tendrils of Qi wrapping around Zou Jiayi's arms.
