Exhausted from the previous day's events, Chi Cheng mustered the energy to rise from his slumber at dawn and wash up at the hot spring's bathhouse. His father informed him that they would depart for their journey soon and Chi Cheng prepared himself.
He found himself entangled in a dilemma of envy with the two wolf pups and the Xuan Hu that Huo Renyi gifted him. He coaxed the two pups with pats and rubs which coerced them into slumber. As young Qi devouring wolves, they were often prone to slumber until their Master channelled energy into them.
