Chapter 16 - A Rare Talent

After about twenty minutes the scalding heat on Serena's breast decreased, she opened her eyes and glanced down at the beautiful golden dragon that was tattoed on the inner side of her left breast, exactly above the bottom of the heart. She had questions regarding the system's behaviour and also about this space, she had heard it say something about the rarest space.

' So, going back to the question, why did you not tell me that I had to awaken my space and that it would cause so much discomfort to me? Why did you deceive me?' Serena directly asked 004 without wasting any time.

" I didn't deceive you host. I didn't tell you about the awakening of the space because back then you were already under too much pressure and were very worried. Had I told you all the truth, you could have gotten scared and decided to back down."

Serena felt her lips twitch on hearing 004's words and the blame in it's voice. But in a way it was right, she was feeling extremely overwhelmed yesterday, it was her first day in this world and so much had happened. Before she could process and accept one absurd thing, the next happened. If she was told that the beginning steps were so difficult, she might have actually chickened out. Considering all of this, she felt that 004's words were actually logical.

"Ok, you're right in a way. Now tell me what did you mean earlier when you said something about the rarest of the rare space?'

" I said that my decision of choosing your soul as my host was right, you have the rarest of the rarest composition. First, you were able to open your mandarins in a single day with only 5 level 1 cores, when even the most gifted system cultivators take more than a fortnight and hundreds of level 1 cores to open the closed mandarins. Now, you were able to awaken your space with only a dozen of level 1 cores and a single level 2 core. On top of that, you were able to awaken the golden dragon land, the most powerful, difficult and also the rarest of all the spaces in the world of cultivation. There has only been one person before you who was able to awaken this space and he is considered a god in the world of cultivation. Host, you must work even harder now, you can't let this insane talent of yours go waste."

Serena listened to 004's explaination patiently as it rambled on and on about how insanely rare her composition and talent was, and all the praises it sang about the revered person who lived and died about tens of centuries ago. She was a bit surprised at first, but later everything made sense to her. Even she had some doubts regarding the simplicity and ease with which she was able to open her mandarins yesterday. The system had already told her that the process was complicated and painful, though it hadn't told her how painful it would be. Thinking back, it made sense, the system wanted to lure her into accepting the tasks as the beginning ones were new and complicated to to ordinary people like her.

After sorting out the information and her emotions, she felt glad. It seemed that luck was on her side as she had gotten the best till now, and now she had to make use of it as much as she could.
