(Isaac's POV)
As Isaac sat on his bed meditating and gathering origin energy to clean his energy veins he decided to stop for the day. Opening his eyes he realized it was close to midnight with his roommate sleeping on his bed on the opposite side of the room. With a sigh he went to bed feeling sad that Val wasn't there with him. Soon he managed to drift off to sleep.
Waking up he looked at the time and realized it was 5am. With a groan he got out of bed and prepared to start the day. He was so used to being around Val all of the time and now that he was gone he felt emotionless and like someone had drained all color and joy from the world.
"It's okay Isaac you are used to this." Taking a deep breath he began stretching while putting on his mask of emotions.
"Alright let's head out. Time to start searching for some clues so we can get this mission over with."
Walking out of his room he began exploring the house he was in. He noticed many different doors probably leading to different dorm rooms. Walking to the main entrance he saw some Egyptian hieroglyphs lining the walls along with a sarcophagus standing nearby. Taking a closer look his auto translation artifact kicked in revealing that most of what it said was gibberish but there was a small section that read [the house of knowledge]. "Well that makes sense since Thoth is the god of knowledge. But I wonder if there is a hidden library in the house."
Continuing to explore he found the kitchen, the dining room, the basement which was locked and a game room. "The only place I have left to explore is upstairs. Perfect time to do it since everyone is still asleep." Walking up the stairs He noticed an office right in front of the stairs with a man inside. Isaac pretended not to see him and kept looking around like he was lost. He walked down the hall and kept looking around upstairs. He noticed more doors that were dorm rooms, a couple bathrooms, and a storage closet that just had cleaning supplies. He also found an attic door that was also locked. "I could open this easily but not now. There is a high chance someone would see me and ask what I'm doing." Heading back to the stairs the man in the office saw him and called him into the office.
"Can I help you?" Isaac said as he took a seat.
"Yes." the man said. "I just wanted to ask you a couple questions, that's all no trouble."
"Sure thing, ask away" Isaac said with a fake smile.
"Firstly, how was your first night?"
"It was fine, I had a bit of trouble falling asleep but that is any time I am in a strange environment. Other than that it was fine"
"Glad to hear it." The man said while smiling. "How was your exploring the house?"
"Also fine I was bored and it makes me feel more comfortable to know my way around. Although I have a question. Why are the attic and basement doors locked?" Isaac was speaking all of his thoughts out without thinking much of it.
"Oh they are locked because there are some old antiques from when the original house was built along with some other contraptions. We put them out of the way so they don't get broken or damaged. Any other questions?" The man asked.
"Nope that is all." Isaac said while nodding in understanding.
"Great! Then there is just one other thing to take care of." The man said. "I have your school uniforms here. They are all ready for you to take. Oh and I forgot to introduce myself. I am the Housekeeper for the house of Thoth. My name is Lucas Owens but most just call me Mr. Owens. "
Shaking his hand Isaac took the box containing his uniforms before walking out of the Office and heading back to his room. As he was walking out he noticed a small tattoo on Mr. Owens neck. It was a small black Ankh with a ring around it. It looked like the Ankh was breaking apart. Thinking it was strange Isaac was about to ask about it but thought it would be better not to since he probably wasn't meant to see it.
Heading back to his room to put his uniforms up in the closet he was provided he didn't see his roommate anywhere in sight. Not thinking much of it he decided to use the computer the school provided to do a bit of research on the school.
