Chapter 48 - 48) Faster Than Sound

[BONUS CHAPTER]

Quicksilver rushed towards Siren as her mouth widened, and a wave of sound threw Quicksilver backwards, causing him to roll on the road.

"I expected you to be faster," said Siren.

"Lady, I just told you how it eats into my life. This is just 1% of how fast I can really go," replied Quicksilver, getting back up to his feet.

Quicksilver ran in diagnol until he was adjacent to her before rushing back to her, punching her in the face multiple times with his arm forming afterimages.

Quicksilver could see her mouth slowly widening as yet another shockwave of sound pushed him with ears leaking blood, followed by a sharp ringing.

"We didn't have to do this, Quicksilver," babbled Siren.

"What? I can't hear what you're saying after deafening me," replied Quicksilver, almost shouting while slowly pronouncing his words. "Are you stupid?" he murmured under his breath.

"Urhh," groaned Siren before walking behind a nearby car and screaming to the top of her lungs. Another powerful blast of sound began to push Quicksilver backwards as the cars in front of her rolled towards him.

Quicksilver manoeuvred out of the way the best he could as the screeching from Siren continued, stopping him from getting any closer, and the cars slowly moved past him.

To Quicksilver's diluted time, the screeching seemed to continue forever until she finally stopped to breathe, and just before she could start again, Quicksilver appeared in front of her and threw an uppercut, shutting her mouth, before unleashing a barrage of attacks on her face.

More and more blood appeared on Quicksilver's hands as Siren's face became bright red and blood poured from her nose.

With a small click of her tongue, a wave of sound pushed Quicksilver backwards before he tumbled to the floor.

A small amount of clutter could be heard, and Quicksilver looked towards the noise. It was a small cylinder that quickly flashed a bright light. Quicksilver's ears continued to bleed, and the ringing that was just about to go came back even stronger.

Quicksilver couldn't see a thing for a while, and the ringing made him completely deaf. He held his ears tightly as he groaned in pain. His sight started to come back, as he could see blurry images of green and pink.

Quicksilver tried to understand what was happening, and he tried to get back up to his feet.

His vision became more clear as the blurry colours slowly changed into the shapes of multiple people, and he continued to stumble on his feet, holding his head from an excruciating headache.

In front of him was Siren, holding a small little girl in a pink dress, now a decent distance away. Quicksilver's senses came back to normal, but the ringing in his ears still lingered.

"In the end, there is no difference between you and the people who created us," yelled Quicksilver with anger.

"SHUT UP! I am nowhere near the level of those monsters," expounded Siren.

"Sure, whatever makes you feel better about yourself, but in the end, you also use the lives of children for your own twisted goals. Tell me how you're any different." asked Quicksilver.

"It's a worthy sacrifice if it means I can put you out of the picture. You're too dangerous to leave alone, Quicksilver," replied Siren.

The small girl started to cry. "Where's my mommy?" she asked.

"She'll be here for you soon; don't worry, девочка. I'll keep you safe," promised Quicksilver.

Siren grew agitated and started to treat the little girl roughly as she pulled her closer towards her. "One little scream and she'll die; her precious little ears don't have the same endurance as a superhuman." Stand down, Quicksilver, or I think you'll see what will happen," demanded Siren.

"You just have to move faster than sound, easy. Remember, Victor, not too fast, not too slow. I got this," mumbled Quicksilver. "I really thought you had good intentions when doing this, even if it was extreme. In the end, you're really no different from any villain before you, no matter your past or history. There is always a choice, and you picked wrong," he added.

"I WILL KILL THIS GIR..." Siren began to yell before a blue fist appeared in her eyes. It was like time slowed down and her life flayed through her eyes. 'I'm sorry, Vulcan. If only I wasn't weak' was all she could say before her hand banged into concrete a few feet back. Her eyes were lifeless as blood poured from the back of her head and her body became cold.

Quicksilver tried to slow down, but no matter what he tried, he couldn't as he rolled through building walls and cars, leaving holes. In the end, his momentum came to an end when he crashed into the side of an empty car, slumped against it, as a small group of people around him gasped.

He could feel most of his bones breaking, and he definitely had some internal bleeding. "Like I said, easy," he muttered while smiling before passing out.

IRON MAN & CAPT

"Hey Stark, how long will it take Banner to get here? We need him on standby for Vulcan; he gives me a bad feeling." said Capt through his earpiece.

"He's still 4 hours out; he just had to go to that bloody conferance," replied Stark.

"I don't think anyone anticipated this," replied Capt, throwing his shield towards a group of three people holding guns. The shield riccochaed amongst all of them before coming back to Capt's hand. "Be careful, Tony; I don't think they came without a plan for each of us," he added.

"Don't worry about it; the only problem I should have is the big guy or birdman, even if his name and appearance make it quite embarrassing to call him a threat," replied Stark.

"Just be careful," replied Capt.

"Ok, ok, I will," replied Stark, disconnected from the line while the barrage of bullets bounced off his suit before blasted the armed men away.

RING RING

"What now, [Friday] answer?" said Stark.

"They got broken out of jail AND got their suits back. What the hell were you guys doing, sticking your thumb up your ass? It's fine; it should be no prob..." spoke Stark before a shadow loomed over him before a large object fell on him causing them to fly towards the ground.
