Verne's response was definitely suspicious, and his assistant knew that.
The way he replied so quick, and the tone he used made it clear that there was no room for discussion about it.
"Uhm...if I may ask, Mr Verne, why can't we send another Unit to assist Unit 2!" The lady asked, making sure her tone was polite, after all, it wasn't too right to ask him that kind of question.
Verne instantly sighed as he stared at her.
"Look, I'm telling you now, that won't be possible, and there's nothing anyone can do to change that," Verne said as he looked at her straight in the eyes.
She didn't know why, but she felt like there was more to this. Verne was clearly refusing to send another Unit because of something.... something that she didn't know.
At this point, she wanted to question Verne more, and even tell him the consequences, but she was hesitant to do that, after all, she was putting herself at risk if she did that, but then.....
