Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Reincarnated

The only thing I could see was black... it felt like I was being erased like I was some grime on the bottom of someone's shoe, that needed to be scrapped off. I couldn't recall who I was; all I knew was that my consciousness was fading away. This scared me. But suddenly... I heard a warm voice that pierced through this empty plain of shadows.

" Rise... breathe... Learn... Remember...Trust...Love... And endure," Whispered a feminine voice. I saw a bright light. It felt warm. My forgotten memories felt like they were being woven back together. The light beckoned me to come forth. Seeing that there was nothing for me to lose, I transverse into the warmth of the unknown...

"..." Did someone say something, I thought to myself. My mind was still wary, even passing through the comforting light.

"Hey!" This time I heard something, but I couldn't tell if it was a woman's voice or a Man.

"HEY brat! Get your ass up!" Shouted a masculine voice. The light engulfed my entire being.

Opening up my eyes, I saw a man who looked like he was in his late thirties, he was wearing a black eye patch, and had a long scar going across his face. Looking at my surroundings, realized that I was in some type of barn. Slamming his foot in my stomach, I begin to cough up some saliva. Before I can recover, he kicks me in my face; busting my lip in the process.

"Next time when I say wake up, then you wake up! You hear!!! Now get up, and follow the rest of the slaves, said the enraged man. Trying to get up, I realized it was difficult for me to stand. Seeing that my hands were shackled, I tried to support myself by using my arms. Finally getting up, I noticed that my body was quite small. Confused about what was going on; memories of my new life started to flash through my mind.

"I see... So I did die," I said quietly. Walking over to the other slaves, I saw three children staring at me. They weren't slaves. Laughing at my misfortune, the three little bastards left.

For the last five years of my life, I was known as a nameless bastard of Tobias Fairs, a Barron that ruled over the great city of Aegies. My mother was a woman from a foreign land, her skin was very dark, and her exotic skin caught the hearts of every man in the town. Catching my father's lustful eyes, the two begin to secretly court each other and eventually, I was born. My father never recognized my existence, not even once. And also, he denied even being with my mother. This made my mother furious; and instead of exposing my father for his lies, she started to abuse me instead. She didn't treat me like a human, but some type of thing that needed to disappear or die. One day, a noble from a different town fell in love with my mother. Taking the opportunity to be treated like a queen, she didn't hesitate to abandon me.

A couple of weeks later; only living off of moldy bread and water. I was found by the landlord. He was furious that my mother left without paying her debt, so he decided to sell me instead... And that is how I got into this situation.

Fix or Re-read later

Waiting in line with the other slaves, I heard screams of pain coming from the front line. Wondering what was going on, I asked a person in front of me.

"Um, excuse me, but what is going on, I asked with ignorance. The man just frowned at me; especially seeing how old I was.

" Because they are getting branded, that's why they are screaming. Don't worry, I doubt they will even brand a kid like you," replied the older gentleman.

Minutes passed; and eventually, it was my turn to get branded, that's what I thought at least. Sitting at a table with two guards flanking him on both sides; was a man with blond hair. You can tell that he was a noble by his posture and attitude.

"Boy? What are you doing here? A childlike shouldn't be in this section. So, I will ask you again, who told you to get out of your cellular, asked the man; while slowly getting out of his seat. He had a cold stern look on his face. I knew if I didn't give him a proper answer, then something bad would surely happen to me. Nervous, I begin to explain why I was there.

"The man with the eye patch told me to, I said with dread in my voice. The man cocked an eyebrow, before telling one of the guards to fetch the man with an eye patch. A few minutes later, eventually, the man with the eye patch came.

He had a smug look on his face. The noble still had that neutral expression on his face.

" So, Evans. Was it true that you ordered the product to be branded, and sent to the mines, asked the noble?

Evans just smiles before explaining himself

"Yes, my lord! Sir. Venture requested me specifically to send this lowborn bastard into the minds," explained Evans. The man just nodded before walking back to his desk. Pulling out of a box of cigarettes, he begins to sit on his table.

"Yes, Yes! At first, I thought you were trying to steal from me Evans, but now if it was a special request for Sir Venture himself, then we should celebrate, no?" Spoke the noble. Evan still had that smile on his face, he reached over to pick up one of the cigarettes. The nobleman quickly pulls out his sword and slices off Evans's hand.

Stepping back in horror, all I could hear was the screams of pain echoing through through the barn.

"You think I'm fucking stupid you low trash piece of shit," spat the nobleman. Evans couldn't say anything due to the immense pain he was feeling.

"Get him up, GET HIM THE FUCK UP GOD DAMN IT!!!" Shouted the Noble. The two guards quickly lifted up Evans before taking him to their master. Pulling Evans hair, so he could be face-to-face with him, the nobleman said some chilling words.

"if you tried to steal from me again, I will kill you and that slut you are so fond of, do you fucking understand me. Evan just nodded his head

"Good." said the Nobleman before violently slamming Evans's head on his wooden desk. Passing out, the two guards drag Evans out of the barn.

The only two people left in the barn was me in the noble. Gesturing for me to follow him, I quickly did what he said, not wanting to face the same fate, as the man with the eye patch that was named Evans.

Eventually, we arrived in a cellar filled with other children that were around my age. Pushing me into the cellar, he begins to lock the door. Putting my hands on the steel bars, I was shocked by some type of electrical current.

"I wouldn't touch those bars, let alone go near them. These bars or especially enhanced with lightning ore, so if you don't want to get fried then sit here and stay quiet, till we find a proper master for you, said the nobleman.

This was my new life, my new beginning.
