SNA regional Headquarters, Park Street, London, UK
On the top floor of the main building was an office room. The room was similar to the Overlord's office in New Eden. The only difference was a huge glass wall overlooking Regent Park. A British woman in her early 50s was standing in front of the window, looking down at the park blankly. She had black eyes, a sharp oval face, and black short hair. She was wearing an SNA uniform with badges indicating that she was a Major General. The nameplate on her chest read, "Sage."
The sky was still dark, but the frantic lights of cars down on the streets as the people tried to leave the city were more than enough to light up the area.
She dove back into the memories of the meeting she just finished attending.
*************************
She stood in a dark Oval room on top of a small pedestal. The pedestal had a sensor embedded in it and multiple cameras facing at it from different angles.
In a few seconds, six holograms appeared in the room. Each hologram belonged to a general representing his country.
Overlord quickly explained the situation and showed the recording of their conversation. As the footage ended, Major General Snow Leopard, the representative of Russia, burst out. He looked like he was in his late 50s, had white hair, a sharp face and a pretty noticeable scar on his left cheek. His voice was full of anger. He said, "Is this a fucking joke? What did we do? Does that piece of sh*t realise that the moment the Moscow Treaty gets revoked, the whole world would erupt in chaos?"
His question was replied by a rough voice. It was the representative of Argentina, Major General Oracle. He had small black hair, grey eyes and a face that always had a cunning smile stuck to it. "Of course he does. Didn't he say that his plan was to burn the world to the ground? What better way to do that than to make the people fight between themselves and die?"
His voice was followed by a female voice. The voice of Itali's representative, Major General Siren. She was in her 50s, but anyone who looked at her would be able to tell that at her young age, she used to be very beautiful. The blonde hair and black eyes were more than enough hints. She said, "In any case, I don't think we should give in to his demands. If the Moscow Treaty is revoked, it would do far more damage than the 17 nukes."
"Yeah. We should focus on what we were doing till now. Find the bombs and defuse them." This voice belonged to the representative of Iran, Major General Titan. He too was in his 50s, but he had a physique that would make even the biggest bodybuilders jealous.
Overlord said, "I agree about that. But aren't we forgetting one big thing? The Moscow Treaty's credibility remains in the hands of the signatory countries. If they all vote to revoke the treaty, we can't do anything about it."
Sage said, "Hmm. That's true."
Just then ARIA's voice came from a speaker somewhere in the room: "Generals, sorry for the trouble, but there is an urgent summons order for one of the generals from the United Nations General Assembly."
Phantom said, "Speak of the Devil. Who wants to go?"
Everyone looked at each other silently, hoping for someone to volunteer. Overlord said, "No one wants to face the UN, huh?"
Siren said, "Can you blame us? After what happened to Berlin, facing the UN is scarier than a death sentence."
Sage sighed and said, "Ok. I'll go. I don't know how it'll go, but I'll try to calm them down and get their votes about the future of the Moscow Treaty. Overlord and Phantom, you two are in charge of this whole situation. Please fix this ASAP."
Overlord said, "We're doing our best. A specialist squad has already left to chase behind Kuroshima. They have the quality to succeed. Believe in them."
Titan asked, "Bravo Squad? It's a regret that we have to disband them."
Oracle said, "There's nothing we can do if they open their mouths; SNA's reputation would get a huge hit. We can't afford that."
The moment Bravo Squad's name came up, Overlord's face went dark. He said in his mind, "I'm sorry, Sohel. I never should've recruited you."
Phantom said, "Enough talk about them. Hope they can finish what they ventured out to do. We should focus on our mission."
Snow Leopard said, "True. Sage, counting on you. Make sure that SNA's reputation remains intact. Snow Leopard out."
Siren said, "Good luck, Sage. Hope you remain alive."
Sage chuckled, "You're overplaying it. I'll be fine... maybe."
Siren chuckled and said, "Anyway, stay frosty. Siren out."
One by one, the other four generals left too. Sage got out of the room and walked towards the office as she planned how to tackle the summons.
*******************************
A soldier wearing a major's uniform came in the room and said, "Ma'am, preparations are done. You can join at any moment."
Sage looked at the major and said, "Ok. I'm coming."
Sage walked out of her office and made her way through the corridors. She stopped in front of the virtual conference room. She closed her eyes and leaned to the door. After she spent some time that way, she stood back up, took a deep breath, and let it out. She opened the door and went in. She stood on the podium with a serious, fearless expression on his face as the screens that covered the walls fully lit up, showing the UN general assembly room with her standing on a podium on the right side of the stage.
The seats in front of the stages were filled with holograms of the representatives of all the countries. She looked to her right and saw the speaker standing in front of another podium getting ready for the assembly meeting.
She said to herself, "You got this, Kate. You've been doing stuff like this for years. Don't get nervous. The other generals are counting on you."
