Mia finally let go of Sam. After all, a moment of euphoria could explain hugging this guy, and getting all teary made sense too, but clinging on any longer would just show she wasn't being sensible.
Once she let go, the atmosphere turned a bit awkward. Only then did she open the door, and there were no customers in sight.
Now, Sam could only sit beside her, while Mia found a somewhat curious topic to discuss.
Sam looked at her, puzzled. "You do know what the consequences are if you use this kind of thing to deceive someone, right?"
"What?"
"Like, getting struck by lightning or something."
"That's pretty harsh!"
"Isn't that what they swear by on TV?"
"Hmph. You're basically cursing me to drop dead."
