They are called Priests. What a difficult word... if you think about it like that, what they have, what their gods have, not a drop of holiness. Then why the priests?
I had no desire to communicate with them, since they serve these "gods", but I was persuaded to listen to at least a couple of lessons.
Gathering my thoughts, I decided to listen to the conversations around me. Yes, I'm in a packed throne room right now, with a huge crowd of people gathered in it.
After listening to some of it, it became clear to me that those present were divided into four camps:
The first one blames me for my incompetence and for not being able to adequately protect the princess. The king's sycophants in short. They're probably aiming for a higher position than they are right now, or they're just too stupid.
The second one claims that this is the work of an adventurer and no one is immune from such injuries. As far as I understood, this camp seemed to consist of military officials and adventurers who had achieved power. That's probably why they judge so sensibly.…
The third one Accuses the Decoy Princess of not listening to my instructions and therefore blaming herself for the injury. These were people who worked because of their intelligence and had fairly high statuses. Most of them are sure that I am very smart. Of course, I support their side. After all, everything was exactly as they said.
The fourth one mocks the royal family, due to the fact that the only princess turned into an adventurer swordsman and, as a result, could not achieve anything. Although I could do something more useful, for example, embroidery. As I understood it, these were "bad" counts who want to "overthrow" the "innocent and wise king who rules a strange one, over which butterflies fly, and unicorns run on the outskirts." In short, they seem to be copied from some movie about a princess in love. And in a way, I'm with them. Think for yourself – almost all the strong noble families are on their side, this is already an indicator that the king is doing something wrong.
According to the results, one camp against three, it is obvious who will win!
Except, the king makes the decision here. So, things may not turn out for the better...
Well, I wouldn't be me if I hadn't prepared. In my bag there is a gas mask, which I made from memory, and two spherical flasks, which are also very fragile. Roughly speaking, these are bombs — one, thick gas, with a deafening effect, and the second with the most powerful poison that we did with the teacher.
The gas mask is for me.
The next step is to stun the guards!
And finally, poison for the king!
And then it will be about a couple of minutes.
It remains to wait, only for the king's choice, the status or health of his beloved daughter.…
...
Heck…
All my preparations have gone down the drain... he's calculating, ahem…
Ouch! I mean, what a blessing that everything worked out! The Decoy Princess admitted she was wrong. Although, I don't understand such people, if she confessed herself, why did she make such a sad face?
Oh, it doesn't matter.
That's just, looking at the displeased face of the king, I made a hasty decision to go on a journey to become stronger and get to know this "beautiful" world better.
Of course, at the same time, do not forget to get the "start-up capital" for your travels. I can't walk around with empty pockets.
I won't miss these places. After all, the castle, in my opinion, is the most dangerous place for me. Either the murderer will be sent, or the king will kill. Well, or the king will send assassins, which is more likely by the way.
Anything is possible.
But I managed to safely avoid danger, although it's a pity that I didn't study many types of all kinds of medicinal herbs beforehand. It could have saved my life one day, apparently not fate. Fortunately, I can make a lot of useful potions anyway. And I will study the rest during the trip, it's not difficult for me.
