Chapter 67 - 5 yr old Time Skip

"Girl, come help with serving the dishes."

Seeing Zane not making any move to serve again, Lorna happily hopped off the iron piece, barefoot, and took the plate handed to her by Zane. Smelling the enticing aroma of the food on the plate, her stomach already empty from the night's battle, she glanced warily at Zane.

Noticing Zane was busy cleaning the kitchenware, Lorna revealed a cunning smile. With lightning speed, she grabbed a piece of crispy fried bread from the plate and tossed it into her mouth.

Before Lorna could taste it, a voice that infuriated her sounded out.

"Master, mistress, Lorna is stealing again!"

"Bastis, You..!!!."

With that said, Lorna took the plate, controlling the iron piece beneath her feet to transform into a long chain, swiftly shooting towards Bastis, who appeared on the dining table at some point. However, like Zane, Bastis had absorbed the power of faith for five years. Though not as powerful as the original Bast, Bastis was strong, far beyond Lorna's reach.

Sure enough, Bastis disappeared from the dining table the next moment, appearing on Zane's shoulder. Lorna could clearly see the mocking look in the damned cat's eyes.

Just as Lorna swore to engage in a 300-round battle with her, Zane, with a dark expression, set down the kitchenware and turned around, snatching Bastis off her shoulder and throwing her to the ground.

Instantly, Lorna and Bastis stood as if paralyzed, motionless.

"How old are you both? Why are you still so childish!"

"Bastis, how can you bully your mistress?"

Seeing Bastis's pitiful expression, Lorna's face displayed a smug smile.

"What are you laughing at? You're stealing again. Have you washed up? Go wash up quickly, and take Bastis with you. She definitely hasn't washed up either."

When she heard the first half of Zane's sentence, Lorna obediently lowered her head like a disciplined child. But after Zane finished speaking, a sinister smile spread across Lorna's delicate face.

"No problem, dear, leave it to me. I'll make sure to wash Bastis clean."

Bastis looked at Lorna approaching her with fear, but she couldn't resist Zane's command and had to let the 'vicious' woman pick her up, step by step towards the dreaded bathroom.

For some reason, even though Bastis's original form was that of a black panther, after shrinking in size, she not only looked exactly like a cat but also inherited the cat's aversion to water.

Listening to the cries of Bastis coming from the bathroom along with Lorna's sinister laughter, Zane shook his head helplessly.

Initially, Lorna and Bastis had a good relationship. After all, Bastis was cute, and Lorna was a girl who naturally liked cute things, so they got along well.

Until one morning when Lorna woke up to find herself sleeping on the floor, and Bastis was comfortably sleeping in Zane's arms. At first, Lorna thought it was an accident, but after several consecutive days of the same situation, the war between the women broke out, evolving into what it is today.

So, the war between women knows no species boundaries. The reason Zane never intervened was that he thought it was quite good. The lively atmosphere created by their quarrels made the whole villa vibrant.

And they never got serious; it was all just playful fighting. In fact, their relationship was very good, even to the extent of being best friends, just with a bit of a twisted way of expressing it.

Yeah, probably.

"Stop fooling around and come eat after you've washed up. The food is getting cold~."

Zane, seeing Lorna 'tormenting' Bastis as if addicted, forgot about breakfast and quickly called out.

"Coming, coming." Reminded by Zane, Lorna's stomach also began to growl. She tossed Bastis into the sink, wiped her hands, and quickly ran to the dining table, devouring the food hungrily.

Bastis, on the other hand, looked like she had just survived a disaster. Who knew a cat's face could express such a wide range of emotions?

Just then, Bastis leaped out of the sink, a golden light flashing across her body, evaporating the water. Following closely behind Lorna, she jumped to the other side of the dining table and began eating the salmon specially prepared by Zane for her.

If Zane didn't know Bastis's true form, he would have thought she was just a cat that had become unusually intelligent.

Just as Zane's family was enjoying their breakfast leisurely, the doorbell rang. Zane used a trace of his faith power to scan and found that the person outside the door was Anna, his assistant hired five years ago.

"Polaris, open the door."

Zane instructed the intelligent butler of the villa. The intelligent butler's name was the same as Lorna's nickname in the original, both called Polaris.

"Yes, boss."

As the door opened, Anna, dressed in a standard powerful woman's office attire, hurriedly walked to the dining table with several documents in her hands.

"Boss, why are you still leisurely having breakfast here? Have you forgotten what I told you?" Anna said with a hint of irritation.

Zane was taken aback, suddenly remembering a message Anna had sent him a few days ago. It seemed that today, as the chairman of Skynet Technology, he was supposed to attend some awards ceremony. Zane hadn't taken it seriously at the time, but now, being suddenly approached by Anna, it felt a bit embarrassing.

"Anna, have you had breakfast?"

"Boss, you..."

Before Anna could finish, Zane interrupted her.

"I know you definitely haven't. I made a lot this morning, I'll serve you a portion, wait." With that, Zane dashed into the kitchen.

Lorna, eating while watching Zane's rare disheveled appearance, greeted Anna, who was already seated at the table.

"Hi, Anna."

"Hi, Lorna."

Bastis beside them wasn't happy. What's going on? Am I invisible? No one's paying attention to me.

Anna also noticed Bastis and straightened up, trying to assert her presence, and stroked her fur with her hand.

"Hi, Bastis."

Only then did Bastis sit proudly and continue enjoying her favorite salmon. Even though she didn't need to eat, she couldn't resist the delicious taste of fish, especially premium salmon. She must be a cat, not a leopard!

By the way, after these five years, Anna had been promoted from Zane's life assistant to the deputy general manager of Skynet Technology, responsible for all external business affairs of Skynet. Lorna, on the other hand, served as the general manager, responsible for research and development and a series of internal work.

As for Zane, the chairman who owned 100% of Skynet, he was just being a lazy fish, signing documents and occasionally showing his face.

When Zane came back with the dishes, Anna stood up anxiously and said, "Boss, you have to attend an award ceremony at 2 p.m. today. We must leave now, or we'll be late."

"Sit down first, we'll talk after you finish eating." Zane waved her hand and pressed Anna back into her seat.

Anna was great in many ways, but sometimes she was too serious and responsible, making Zane, the newly appointed lazy fish, feel helpless!

"Oh, by the way, Anna, what award am I receiving?" Zane asked curiously at the dinner table.

"It's the Apogee Award given by the military to you and Tony Stark, CEO of Stark Industries."

Anna answered while eating, proving that Zane's C-level skill, [Culinary Master], wasn't just for show. Despite her urgency, once the food was in her mouth, she couldn't get up.
