"Arthropod Exhibition? It seems like a turning point in Spider-Man's destiny. What role should I play in this?" Zane sat in his chair, contemplating. After a while, he seemed to have made a decision, looking at the adjacent Peter Parker with a sly smile.

At that moment, Peter turned his head. The two locked eyes, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

"Is Zane interested in men? Is Lorna just covering him up?" Peter thought.

"Oh no, I've been discovered for playing such tricks. How embarrassing." Zane thought.

Then, both of them naturally turned their heads, staring straight at the blackboard. However, since the class had just started, there was nothing on the blackboard, and no one knew what they were looking at.

In the afternoon, on the school bus, it seemed like Spider-Man suddenly remembered something. He turned to Zane, who was engrossed in conversation with Lorna.

"Zane, you haven't told me why you changed so much overnight," Peter asked.

Zane turned his head, looking at Peter with a smile.

"You'll understand once you have a girlfriend," he said and buried his head in Lorna's hair, greedily taking a breath, enjoying it with closed eyes.

"So fragrant."

Looking at Zane and Lorna's sweet appearance, Peter couldn't help but glance at Gwen, who was sitting in the front seat, chatting and laughing with her friend.

"If you like her, go for it." Zane, who appeared next to Spider-Man at some point, followed his gaze and saw Gwen.

"No, I don't..."

Peter was about to retort, but the words 'don't like' were on the tip of his tongue, and he couldn't say them. In the end, he could only sigh helplessly.

Zane patted his shoulder in comfort and then turned to continue showcasing affection with Lorna.

As for helping Peter pursue Gwen, that's a joke. Zane wasn't a saint. Why bother with someone else's business? In summary: it's none of my damn business!

Inside the exhibition hall, the staff was explaining various genetically engineered products—super spiders.

"Students, look here."

"These super spiders are the latest research results of Oscorp Industries, using synthesized ribonucleic acid to create an entirely new genome, combining the abilities of several spiders to produce these 15 super spiders."

"However, there are only 14 here." A girl beside them counted several times, realizing there were only 14."

"But there are only 14 here." A girl next to them looked at the exhibition cabinet several times and found only 14.

"Well... I guess the researchers must have taken one for further study."

No one delved deeper. After all, it was just a spider, and losing one wasn't a big deal. However, what everyone didn't see was that the missing spider was descending from the ceiling along a silk thread, following the trajectory of fate, crawling towards Peter Parker.

Just as it was about to land on the back of Peter's neck, a hand with gloves directly grabbed it and quickly placed it in a small glass jar.

"Zane, what's going on?"

"Nothing."

Peter felt the movement behind him and turned to look at Zane with a puzzled expression.

Yes, Zane was the one preventing Peter from becoming Spider-Man. As for the reason, Zane simply felt that it was a waste for Peter to become Spider-Man. Everyone was blinded by Spider-Man's superpowers, not realizing that his mind was top-notch in the entire Marvel Universe.

Moreover, in a parallel world, he established the Parker Group, which surpassed the Stark Group through his scientific research abilities.

So, Zane decided to re-plan a better life for Peter. Becoming Spider-Man was a bit burdensome for him. First, he lost family, then friends, and finally, his beloved. The first half of his life could be described as impoverished. He could only take pictures of himself to earn some living expenses, completely wasting his genius mind.

As for the secret base left by Peter's father at Roosevelt Station, Zane had already instructed Skynet to destroy it at noon, copying the technology of gene grafting in the process.

The paper documents and clues left by Peter's family at home had also been erased without a trace by Skynet. From now on, Peter embarked on a completely new path, a path Zane had carefully planned for him.

As for the subsequent villains like the Green Goblin, the Lizard, and Doctor Oct, Zane believed that there were always big shots in the Marvel world. S.H.E.I.L.D is not just for show, they may not be good against beings like Hulk, but dealing with these small fries should be doable.

Thinking this way, the only trace of guilt left in Zane's heart disappeared without a trace. He even felt like he was Peter's father, worrying about his future.

Peter looked at Zane, and the increasingly kind gaze made him feel uncomfortable. He felt like he had seen this kind of gaze somewhere until he saw his uncle in the evening and realized that this was the gaze of a father looking at his son!

But now Peter still couldn't understand Zane's gaze. He just felt uncomfortable all over, and in the end, he couldn't stand it.

"Zane, what do you mean by looking at me like this?" Peter said through gritted teeth.

He felt that yesterday's Zane was more reliable. Now, this guy is full of bad taste, occasionally going crazy. What the hell happend to him yesterday.

"Peter, summer vacation is coming. What are you planning to do?" Zane asked nonchalantly.

Peter, who was still a simple student, was easily led away by Zane's change of topic.

"Well... I plan to find a summer job to help with the family expenses. My uncle is getting old."

"Good, Peter. I knew I didn't read you wrong. You're truly a filial child." Zane patted Peter's shoulder, expressing his satisfaction.

"Filial child? What the hell, do you really think I'm your son?" Peter silently complained in his heart, but on the surface, he just rolled his eyes. Without superpowers, he was still a reserved bookworm, and there was still a long way to go before he became talkative.

"Peter, I have a summer job here with excellent pay, social insurance, and meal subsidies. Would you like to consider it?" Zane turned into a pyramid scheme salesman, handing Peter a business card.

The card read "Skynet Technology," and below it was a series of phone numbers.
