Chapter 5 - V1 - C1 - P5: Revenance Pt1.

Flashback(39 Years ago).

Thirty-nine years ago, when Kade was only fifteen and Heiden was just thirteen, the two boys walked through the rough and dangerous neighborhood Kade despised growing up in.

Heiden appeared to be a slight young man, who stood at an average height. His hair was curly in a shade of black, and amber eyes. His face was decorated with minimal bandages, adding to the air of nervousness that he exuded.

Kade was a tall, mildly fit young man with short, moderately spiky blonde hair, dark brown eyes, and minimal bandages wrapped all over his face, and more bandages on his knuckles, and arms. And a pissed off look on his face.

Young Heiden Lathers:

"Uhm, are you alright, Kade?"

Young Kade Northwood:

"Honestly, this place can go to hell for all I care."

Young Heiden Lathers:

"Uh..."

"Uhm, thank you for saving me from those-"

Young Kade Northwood:

"A##holes? Yeah, whatever."

"Did I ever tell you how much I hate this place? So much bullsh## happens here it's not even funny."

"There's never been a day where people could just sit down, and just do stuff without messing up everyones lives."

Young Heiden Lathers:

"Well... if you want a day where it's exactly like that, how about we do that?"

Young Kade Northwood:

"Eh? What are you? Dumb? We're broke as hell, you think money just comes from outta' the ass like that?"

Young Heiden Lathers:

"W- what??? Of course not! You goofy!"

"I'm just saying, instead of sitting around and doing nothing, how about we do something fun, that'll also be good for the neighborhood?"

"Like... selling lemonade?"

Young Kade Northwood:

"...Heidi, did that guy hit your head too hard? Cause what you say sounds like bull-"

Young Heiden Lathers:

"Just listen you idiot!"

"Doing this might help yourself, and my parents situation."

"And maybe this'll be fun for everyone. That's what you want, right?"

Kade scratched the back of his head before letting out a sigh.

Young Kade Northwood:

"Fine."

"We'll do your stupid little lemonade stand thing."

Timeskip(4 Hours).

Heiden and Kades lemonade stand on the streets thrived, and despite Young Kade Northwood's initial annoyance, he couldn't deny that the lemonade stand was surprisingly successful. The street buzzed with kids, parents, adults, and even police officers coming by to purchase the refreshing drink.

Young Kade Northwood:

"I cannot believe that this actually worked."

Young Heiden Lathers:

"See? All it takes is one person to do something everyone else wanted to do in a long time."

"Look at everyone around us! It's like a party out here!"

Kade wondered if today was a coincidental occasion when people ventured outside without fear, witnessing kids playing and running around, music filling the air, and the aroma of barbecues permeating the streets, transforming them into a lively marketplace.

Young Heiden Lathers:

"You got everything you wanted, so what's with the cranky look? Grumpy pants-"

Heiden's moment was abruptly disrupted when a water balloon accidentally smacked into his face, prompting a pout of annoyance. He shot a scowl at the apologetic kids, only to hear Kade suppressing a snicker nearby.

Heiden turned, surprised to see Kade laughing for the first time. Their eyes met, and Heiden couldn't help but smile, joining in the laughter with Kade.

Current Time.

Kade peered down at Heiden, who clutched his stomach on the ground.

Kade Northwood:

"Stand up, now."

Pointing his gun, Kade sternly demanded that Heiden stand up. Worry etched across his face, He looked up at Kade, complying by going on his knees and slowly standing up. His hands raised in surrender, his heart pounded with fear.

Kade Northwood:

"Why did you do it?"

Heiden Lathers:

"What–"

Kade Northwood:

"DON'T YOU LIE TO ME!"

"YOU LIAR!"

"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

"THOSE PEOPLE BACK THERE DIDN'T HAVE TO DIE, BUT THEY DID, BECAUSE YOU DID ALL OF THIS!"

Heiden Lathers:

"Do you not hear yourself!?"

"Kade, you're not right in the head! You need help!"

"Just... lower the gun, Kade, please–"

Kade Northwood:

"SHUT UP!"

"YOU BETRAYED ME AND THREW ME UNDER THE BUS, AFTER ALL I DID!"

"HOW COULD YOU?! WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THAT TO THEIR OWN FRIEND?!"

Heiden looked at Kade, solemnly stating.

Heiden Lathers:

"A good friend never sells their friend out."

"But a better friend would never stand by while their friend hurts themselves and others."

Kade froze at Heiden's words, displaying a moment of hesitation. Lowering his gun, he seemed on the verge of stopping and considering surrender. However, he abruptly changed course, raising his gun once again and pointing it at Heiden.

He had crossed a line by murdering several people in the office. The justice system wouldn't likely spare him with anything less than multiple death sentences.

Kade's gaze then shifted to the window behind Heiden, the sirens and the sounds of helicopter rotors growing louder, his grip on the handle tightening as he began to breathe heavily.

Heiden Lathers:

"Kade! Please! Just calm down!"

Heiden, tears in his eyes, approached Kade slowly, attempting to de-escalate the tense situation.

The escalating noise around Kade intensified, the blaring sirens and helicopter rotors piercing his senses. His breathing grew heavier, his head spinning, until he finally snapped.

With a deafening cry of anger, Kade senselessly opened fire on Heiden. The rapid bullets from the Uzi pierced through his body, head, and the window behind him, propelling him out of the window. Heiden plummeted from the tall building, his body crashing into a car below.

Kade approached the edge of the broken window, gazing down at the large crowd, the swarm of police, SWAT cars, and Heiden's lifeless body embedded in the roof of a car.

Kade felt neither excitement, thrill, nor adrenaline. His mind turned empty, having grown emotionally numb from the death of Heiden Lathers.

After a moment of silence, the sound of a crash came from outside the office, followed by a noise that echoed through the corridors of the building: the marching and shouting of SWAT officers announcing their approach.

The sounds of multiple officers rushing up the stairs and bursting through doors intensified, making it clear that time was running out for him. As he raced up the stairs, knowing that this would be his final moment of being alive, he quickly ran up to the roof of the tall building.

Standing on the edge, he looked out over the city. He was trapped, with nowhere to go.

Several SWAT men came bursting through the door and spread out with all of their guns raised at him.

SWAT Officer #1:

"Sir! Turn around, place the weapon down, and walk backwards with your hands behind your head!"

Kade Northwood stood at the edge of the roof, and turnt around to look at the SWAT members with his arms raised while wield the Uzi, as the men slowly walked towards him. They shouted orders at him, telling him to turn around and walk backwards to them, but Kade refused.

SWAT Officer #2:

"PUT THE WEAPON DOWN, A##HOLE!"

SWAT Officer #3:

"PUT THE WEAPON DOWN AND WALK BACKWARDS WITH YOUR HANDS BEHIND THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD!"

SWAT Officer #4

"THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING!"

FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN FURTHER ACTION!"

"FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, NOW!"

Kade Northwood:

"Officers..."

"I'm putting my weapon down..."

"See?"

The SWAT team members had their guns trained on Kade, ready to take him down at a moment's notice, and now angrily shouting at him to listen to their demands. Kade calmly leaned forward and lowered his Uzi.

But then...

In a split-second, he quickly raised his weapon in an attempt to shoot and kill atleast one of the members of the SWAT team, but they were quick to respond with their own weapons already drawn and aimed at Kade.

The men immediately reacted, shooting at Kade before he could even get a shot off. Kade grunted as he felt the bullets teared into him and then straight through his eye and head, stumbling backwards off the edge of roof.

As he fell, his body riddled with bullets, he watched as the ground below approached with blinding speed. In that moment, time seemed to slow down to a halt, as if the world itself was waiting for him to meet his fate.

But as he continued to fall, the closer he came to the ground, the further it seemed to be. The world around him grew darker until it was nothing but an endless abyss.

He didn't scream. He didn't cry. He didn't even fear what was happening to him. Instead, he was filled with a sense of curious detachment, as if he was observing his own death from a distance.

As his body was pulled down into the void, he couldn't help but wonder what lay beyond this darkness.

Kade Northwood(INT)

"So this is death?"

"No heavens gate, no eternal damnation."

"This was all there was to find... in the end of life."

"Nothing."

Slowly, he submerged into the darkness. He allowed himself to drift into the abyss, and as he sank deeper, the last thought that crossed his mind was that there was no point in fighting anymore for there was nothing to fight for at all.

And so he closed his eyes, accepting his fate, until his existence merged with the void. The silence in the abyss were absolute.

But as the moment approached, Kade felt a surge of rage.

Kade Northwood:

"NOOO!!!"

He screamed.

Kade Northwood:

"This isn't where I die! This isn't where I die! This isn't my end!"

He started blindly digging at the air above him, hoping to somehow grab onto something. His screams were guttural and filled with determination, the void being the only witness to his struggle.

And in his endless struggle through the infinite ocean of emptiness, he desperately searched for anything to save him from the abyss. And miraculously, his fingers found purchase on an empty space within the void. He then dug his fingernails into the darkness as he pulled himself upwards. And rather than climbing and grasping normally, he began clawing his way up the nothingness as if it were solid ground, his body shaking with determination and fear.

Kade Northwood:

"CRAWL!"

He screamed.

Kade Northwood:

"CRAWL!"

He screamed again.

He struggled against the darkness and so he repeatedly screamed.

Kade Northwood:

"CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL

CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL CRAWL"

His rage only fueled his determined climb upwards, his fingernails digging deeper into the emptiness. The abyss offered no response, only a deeper silence that seemed to swallow Kade whole. But Kade would not be consumed. His cries for survival echoed through the infinite ocean of emptiness. And he would crawl and climb his way out of the darkness, no matter how long it took or how broken his body and mind would become.

Timeskip(????????????????).

For what felt like an eternity on this treacherous climb, he noticed a palpable change in the air around him. Gone was the suffocating emptiness, replaced by the touch of something that felt almost foreign. It was a ray of light, and it's feeling of warmth touching his skin.

He mustered all of the energy he had left in his body and digged his broken and torn fingernails into the darkness, his fingers digging deeper and deeper with each passing moment.

The light was getting closer, and closer, and closer, and closer, and closer, and closer.

And with one last push, Kade let out a final scream, using the last reserves of his strength to haul himself upwards for one more moment. And finally, he broke through into the light.

Cut to a large shallow lake.(Time:???).

In the tranquil silence of the night, the sounds of loud insects and birds filled the air above a vast, shallow lake, illuminated by the night sky.

Kade stirred and emerged from the water, rising to one knee. With force, he stood upon the lake, gazing at his reflection in the water.

Kade stood tall, his physique more athletic with more muscle on him. He was a young male with spiked disheveled black hair, green eyes, and distinctively sharp, angular teeth.

He held onto his face and began to chuckle. The chuckle gradually morphed into a loud, maniacal laughter echoing across the serene surroundings.

Cut to ???

In a grand and expansive throne room, multiple heavily armored men with white wings adorned their backs, standing alongside several individuals emitting a divine light.

Seated upon a throne was a beautiful woman, her long curly crème-colored hair cascading around her, and her eyes, resembling the universe itself, emitted a glowing brilliance. She wore a long white dress adorned with jewelry, including gems of all colors that glowed with ethereal radiance.

As the beautiful woman prepared to savor her sip of wine, a sudden mixture of shock and confusion froze her in place. Distraught, she gripped her face, the moment marred by an unexpected disturbance.

???:

"H-how?"

"This... this shouldn't be possible...?"

"Two shouldn't be her- oh dear..."

A younger woman leaned in close to the side of the beautiful woman, whispering words of worry and concern into her ear.

???:

"My Goddess, Quasarra! You seem distraught, is there something the matter?"

High-Goddess Quasarra:

"Kairi! I need you to have Seiji here, immediately!"

Kairi Anamos:

"Uh- uhm, Seiji? May I ask-"

High-Goddess Quasarra:

"There's no time! I need him here, now!"

Kairi Anamos:

"Uhm, yes, my Goddess!"

Kairi hurriedly descended the stairs of the throne and left the room. Quasarra, filled with terrible worry, clutched her face, sensing a shift in reality and an unsettling malevolence growing upon the world.

Goddess Quasarra:

"Man of the abyss, cloaked in the garment akin to the Wolf and Serpent."

"Who are you, and whence have you came from...?"
