Mila with Jasmine hot on her tail ; they both descended the staircase . Before they could even reach the end of the staircase , Mila suddenly halted in her tracks . "What's wrong?" Jasmine questioned , placing a hand over her sister's shoulder who turned and glanced at her .
"Could it be him?" Mila questioned .
Jasmine's eyebrows knotted together before she glanced ahead and then back at her older sister who's facial expressions was unreadable ," Could be ." Jasmine paused ," You don't want to meet him ?"
Mila shook her head and ascended the stairs , followed by Jasmine before they halted again . "I have something to do . Could you go and see what he wants , and I'm sure mom will be there too ." Mila spoke .
Jasmine remained silent , seemingly going through her sister's words and trying to dig out the unspoken words in them before she nodded her head ," Sure . I'll go ." Jasmine said . Mila nodded and muttered a thank you before Jasmine descended the staircase .
Mila then turned and headed back to her room , with one guard behind her . She halts by her door and turns to the guard ," What is your name ?" She asks sweetly . It's strange to how she doesn't know the names of her three guards that have been with her for years now .
"Conner , Ms.Woods ." The guard replied . He is the same man who was with her back in the hotel and mostly when she needs some time alone , he is the one that stays in the shadows while the other two give her 'some time alone' .
Mila nodded , the strands of her hair bouncing with the impact . "Have you seen my poodle ? Jasmine ." She adds .
Conner shook his head ," No . I would inform someone to go and search for it ." He insisted .
Mila closed the door while talking ," Him ." She corrected ,"There's no need . We'll go around and search for him ." She offered him a small smile over her shoulder while they walk down the hallway.
Mila seemed to be just sauntering around the house while peeking over every corner and looking for her poodle , but she was really searching for the envelope and the box she received last night on her birthday.
She had questions , many of them , but she couldn't yet trust the man , Mr Andromeda , as they address him as or Morgana , that dark witch . Mila shivers as she remembers how the woman's eyes had morphed into razor yellow teeth all of the sudden in the middle of their conversation . She did freak out that moment but she could barely show it . The shadows she had seen , are far more haunting than that dark witch .
"Do you know where..." Mila's voice does down , her eyes no longer on Conner but her father .
Conner waited for her to finish her words but she walked past him and headed to her father's study who was already on the verge of closing the door after he had seen the person who was with him off .
Mila hurries to push open the door but Conner was there to hold the handle for her . She looked up at him and send the thank you words via her eyes before she focused back on her father who had already opened the door for them .
"Hey pumpkin ," her father greeted her and Mila barely smiled ," Hey dad ," She greeted back before she pointed her thumb back to where Augustus had disappeared off too ," Was that the box ,"
"That you received last night ? Yes ." Her father answered , finishing off her words for her before he entered the room , expecting her to follow and she does because she needs to . " I promise I will protect you , pumpkin . Always and forever . And guess what ," her father spread his arms wide open and Mila quietly waited for him to vomit out the words because she's not going to guess ," I am no longer going to treat you like a child and keep you in the dark . I have finally found the person who has been sending you those flowers ."

Mila watched her father round his desk and mutter how he managed to find that person and Mila could barely register his words in when she was focused on his earlier words . 'He found the person ? Who ? Mr Andromeda ?'
"Dad -"
"Augustus has gone to fetch him . Don't you worry my dear . everything will be settled now and back to the way it was." Her father spoke and just in time when he sat down on the chair , the door opened and her father's guard , not Augustus , came with a man he held by collar roughly and dragged his lump body through the room before he threw him down the floor.
The man's face was bloated and he was beyond unrecognisable with his round swollen eyes and red , pink and yellow skin . Mila had never seen so many colours in one's face . She turned her head from the sorrowful man who is a hundred percent not her mysterious gifter and to her father who was smiling like a proud father while looking at the man on the floor with his hands and legs tied up .
When his father's glistening eyes averted from the man and to her , noticing her sombre expression , his smile slowly faced away while he stands up to her . "What is wrong pumpkin ? I have finally caught the vicious person who has been terrorizing you ." Her father spoke .
'Well are you sure about that ? The vicious person that is haunting me might not even be a person and just some shadow and a man we met yesterday who wants to marry me for some stupid claim of wanting to keep me safe and is calling me little princess which manages to make the butterflies in my stomach flutter their wings blissfully but I know for a damn that I shouldn't be charmed by his irresistible charking face but actually be terrified and intimidated by his presence ?'
"Well are you sure it is him ?" Mila questioned , glancing down at the man for even half a second before she looks back at her father .
Her father glanced at the man and back to her ," Well sure he is . He better be ." Her father spoke and Mila just wanted to sigh out loud , but she refrained .
Her father turned his gaze back to her and before he could say something to distract her mind from the real purpose of entering this room , she spoke ," Father I want us to discuss something . And since you said you will no longer keep me in the dark , I expect you to be fully honest with me ."
