Olivia had woken up thrice. She had a splitting headache and realized she could not go back to sleep. She looked over at her side and saw Ignacio was completely knocked out. They had flown out to Hawaii three days before and she could not wait to be out of here and back home. Her life had changed and she had become very miserable, he had slept with her six times that night, no wonder, he slept so soundly. She removed his arm that was on her belly and stood up. She looked at him once more with disgust and she could not believe what her life had become because she could not afford the necessities of life for her and her family, only to be stuck with a monster.
She went downstairs, and opened one of the kitchen cabinet, she found a packet of aspirin, took some water from the fridge and went into the living room. She turned on the television and sat in front of it, trying to watch some soap operas to take her mind off what she was thinking, she was two hours in when she slept off on the couch.
"Splash!!" as the water came down on her face.
"What the fuck?" Olivia says as she quickly stands up, ready to attack whoever had poured water on her.
"Rise and shine little girl" Ignacio says laughing
"What did you do that for?" Olivia says angrily, cleaning the water from her eyes.
"It is past 8. I am starving, I need breakfast"
"There are servants who could have done that for you"
"I know. But I want you to cook. Don't think for a second that because we are on honeymoon that you won't do anything. I don't want my wife being lazy"
"I am not lazy and you could have woken me up like a normal human being would do" she says eyeing him.
"Oh, I know that, the water was a punishment for you sleeping and drooling on my couch"
"I could not sleep last night so I came down for an aspirin, I did not know when I slept off on the couch, asshole"
He looked at her, smiling wickedly.
"Language, little girl. I don't care what your excuse is. You are supposed to be by my side at all times, no exceptions or excuses"
"Is this how you treat all the women you have been with?"
"All the women I have been with, show respect and obey me. They do what I say without any complaints"
"But I have not disrespected you"
"Yes, you have by leaving my side. Now, I'll teach you real discipline. So get out and make my breakfast"
Olivia eyes him and begins to make her way to the kitchen.
"Wait, before you go, change this crappy show and put on something more exciting". She changes the channel, places the remote control by his side, then walks over to the kitchen to make his breakfast.
Olivia had just stepped out of the bathroom, putting on her white robe, she felt a little bit happier today, they were heading home, her so-called honeymoon was over. Ignacio had already gotten ready and was downstairs waiting for her.
"Olivia!! Olivia!!" He screamed out her name, breaking her train of thoughts.
"Yes?" She answers from the bedroom
"We haven't got all day. The plane leaves in two hours, and the drive to the airport is already an hour drive. So if you don't want to book another flight for yourself, I suggest you hurry up and get out here as soon as you can"
"I am almost down, I just need to dress up"
"Good" he snorts and continues to read the paper.
Olivia winces as she tries to rub some ointment on her face, she had a black eye from Ignacio constant beatings, she picked up her concealer and applied it on the affected area.
"What are you wearing?" Ignacio asks as Olivia comes down the stairs
"A dress" Olivia replied as she looks down at what she was putting on.
"I know it's a dress, I am not stupid. But why are you wearing such a revealing dress? You are trying to get men to chase after you right? Ohh, you are sordidly mistaken, you belong to me and no one else. Now go back upstairs and change into some appropriate"
"Ignacio, there is nothing wrong with my dress. I don't think it is revealing" she says confused as she stares at him.
"Oh, little girl, you don't learn, do you?" He looks at her angrily.
Olivia looks at him and down at her dress again, she could not understand how it was revealing.
"I won't say it again little girl. Go back upstairs and change into something more appropriate for a married woman"
She saw that he was getting closer to where she was standing and he would definitely hit her at any time if she did not do what he had asked, she went back upstairs, took out a faded jeans and a t-shirt from her bag and put that on instead.
"Now, that looks much better" Ignacio says as he catches sight of her.
"Hugo!!" He calls the house-keeper, who hurriedly runs into the house from the backyard where he had been washing the car.
"Is the car ready?" Ignacio asks
"Sí Señor"
"Alright, take the bags into the car"
Hugo carries the bags and heads outside to where the car is parked, he arranges the bags in the booth of the car and makes way to enter the driver's seat but Ignacio stops him.
"No Hugo, I'll drive myself, Just take care of the house and lock up afterwards"
Hugo nods. Ignacio faces Olivia, who stands by the doorway, waiting for instructions before doing anything.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Get in".
Olivia had just finished putting her suitcases away, she was too tired to unpack and made a mental note to do it first thing tomorrow morning. She heads downstairs and sights Ignacio working in his study, she heads over to the kitchen and makes herself a cup of orange juice, she stands, sipping it when Ignacio calls her into his study.
"You called me" she says standing in the doorway leading to his study
"Yes and stop with the attitude little girl" as he catches her eyeing him, with disdain.
"What can I do for you Ignacio?" She asks
"I am starving. Fix me something to eat"
"Okay" she heads over to the kitchen and checks the cabinets. She sees that everything is empty, she remembers that they did not have time to shop since the wedding. She heads back to meet Ignacio.
"There is nothing to cook, the kitchen cabinets are empty"
"And why is that?" He asks
"We have not had time to shop since the wedding"
"So what would you have me do, Olivia?" He asks sarcastically.
"We could just order in" she says, intentionally missing the sarcasm.
"No. I want fresh home-cooked meal"
"But we just got back from the airport and I am exhausted"
"You can take the car Olivia, but I want you to cook for me and that's the last I want to hear about this"
"Fine" Olivia says angrily as she grabs the car-keys and heads out.
She sits in the car and weeps for herself and for what her life has suddenly become. She cries for about ten minutes then heads out of the gate.
She gets into the store and begins to look for things that can make a meal in ten minutes max. She is almost done shopping when she realizes, she had not picked out any vegetables. She heads down over to aisle 10 for vegetables when she sights him, she removes her shades and looks very closely before she calls out to him.
"Derek?"
The young man she calls out to, turns around and faces her.
"Olivia, is that you?" He asks.
