Silas's phone rang, disturbing the romantic moment he had been sharing with Esme. He gently caressed her cheek, an apologetic smile on his lips. "Just a moment," he murmured.
Esme nodded, feeling giddy from the fierce kissing.
Checking the caller ID, he saw it was one of the guards he had stationed outside Dexter's house and instructed them to call him immediately if they noticed something odd. His eyebrows furrowed as he answered the call.
"What is it?"
The guard's voice crackled through the line, laced with tension. "Sir, two men just entered the house. They claim to be from a water purifier company, saying Mrs. Shaw requested service. But there is something off about them. Should we go inside and check?"
Silas's brow furrowed as he processed the information, glancing back at Esme. "Did your mother ask for any water purifier servicing?"
