Victoria knew Ewan was right, but it didn't ease her anxiety. Silas had always been headstrong, much like his father, and while she admired his bravery, she couldn't help but feel that he was rushing into danger.
Ewan placed a comforting hand on her knee. "I know you're scared, Victoria. But Silas is doing what he thinks is right. He won't rest until he finds the attacker."
Victoria gave a small nod, though the worry in her eyes never wavered. She stared at the door to the operating room, willing it to open, praying for good news.
Outside the hospital…
Silas stood with his hands clenched into tight fists, his body tense with restrained fury. The night air was cool, but it did little to calm the storm brewing inside him. Caleb stood beside him, his expression grave as he relayed the information about the attacker.
"He is from an underworld gang. He confirmed that John was behind it all. And there is more—John has strong ties to Travis."
