"It's not me…All thanks to Caleb." Silas's heart was filled with gratitude toward Caleb. He had been in depression ever since the DNA sample was destroyed and had lost the hope and courage to continue the fight.
But Caleb had not given up. He had relentlessly kept following Arthur, learned about his schedules, and tracked his family down. Without his help, this breakthrough wasn't possible.
"Caleb managed to find Arthur's family and used them as leverage," Silas explained. "Arthur had no choice but to confess everything. Now, he's under our control, safe until the next hearing."
Esme felt relief wash over her, but a small crease of worry appeared on her brow. "But won't Maya try to contact Arthur? If she can't reach him, won't she get suspicious? I'm worried she'll find a way to cause more trouble."
"We'll handle it," he said confidently. "Maya won't find him, and she won't even know where to look. We've made sure of that."
