Esme quickly wiped away her tears and stood up, her voice trembling but resolute. "I came to check on Haris. The doctor mentioned that he might hear us, so I started talking to him." Her eyes shifted back to Haris, who remained motionless. "Why isn't he waking up?"
Joseph approached the bed, his face marked with a mixture of sorrow and frustration. "I'm doing everything I can to wake him up, but he seems to be holding onto a deep, hopelessness. It's like he has given up."
"He can't give up," Esme said fiercely. "He is our only chance—a hope. He is the one who can reveal Maya's true nature and her deceptions. We need him to wake up."
"Esme!" Joseph sighed heavily, turning to face Esme. "I understand your frustration, Esme. What is happening with Silas is tragic, and we're all working hard to clear his name. But if Haris doesn't want to wake up, there is nothing more we can do."
