Maya's initial fear quickly morphed into seething anger. She crushed the note into a tight ball in her fist, her knuckles whitening with the force. Her breath came out in sharp, angry bursts. "You've made a big mistake," she hissed under her breath, her nostrils flaring with fury. "You'll pay for this."
Determined, Maya stuffed the incriminating photos into her bag and strode out of the green room with purpose. Her manager, waiting just outside, quickly fell in step behind her.
"Ma'am, are you heading home?" she asked, trying to keep up with Maya's brisk pace.
"No," Maya snapped, not bothering to slow down. "I'm going to see a friend. You don't need to accompany me."
Reaching the hotel parking lot, Maya didn't hesitate. She slipped into her car and barked an order to the driver. "Take me to Moonlit Bar."
