Silas's brutal kiss had ignited a spark of terror within Esme. She was hurt too. A strong sense of revulsion surged through her, a tidal wave threatening to drown the affection she had for him. With a surge of adrenaline, she shoved him away.
"You've gone insane, Silas! If you don't trust me, explanations are pointless. Now get the fuck out of here." Rage, hot and trembling, echoed in her voice.
Silas cocked his head, his anger mirroring hers. "You are chasing me out!" he snapped, disbelief twisting his features. "For him?"
"Silas… I have nothing to do with Julian," she yelled, frustration boiling over. "We just bumped into each other outside the restaurant. He offered me a ride, and I just accepted his offer. That's all."
A humorless chuckle escaped Silas, laced with disdain. "Yeah, right; he is so kind."
