Chapter 383 - Charles’s confession

Arthur's face fell, his fear evident. "This is too risky," he said, shaking his head. "Up until now, all I've done is manipulate situations, trap your lovers, and blackmail them. But hurting a lawyer? That's crossing a line. If I get caught, I'll go to prison. No, Maya, I can't do this."

Maya knew he was scared. She couldn't be harsh with him. She needed Arthur's help now more than ever. "Brother," she pleaded, her tone shifting to one of desperation, "you can't abandon me now. We're in this mess together, and we need to stick together if we're going to get out of it."

Arthur shifted uneasily, his hesitation clear. Fear and frustration danced in his eyes as he considered Maya's reckless plan.

"You made a mistake this time," he hissed, his irritation etched deep into his features. "A terrible one. I warned you not to mess with the Sullivans. This is their territory, and Silas is not someone to be trifled with. But you wouldn't listen and kept following him.."
