Chapter 156 - Silas’s helplessness

Silas's fury boiled over like a raging inferno, his features contorted with anger as he struggled to contain the tempest of emotions churning within him. Esme's words had ignited a firestorm of jealousy within him, pushing him to the brink of madness.

His jaw clenched vice-like, his face flushing a dangerous crimson. He dug his nails into her wrists. 

"Lara is just a friend!" he roared, the sound echoing menacingly in the confines of the room. "We do not have feelings for each other, unlike you and Julian. We always support each other as good friends. You and that bastard were in a serious relationship, and he is obsessed with you. Don't you dare compare a friendship to your past with him! Do you understand?"

Esme whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut against the rising tide of pain. "Um... you're hurting me," she whined, tears pricking at the corners of her tightly shut lids.
