Silas's smile faltered. Her tone, laced with ice, shattered his illusion of a perfect morning. "Get out? really?" He raised an eyebrow, bewildered. "You invited me in last night and slept with me. Now you are kicking me out!"
"Don't play dumb!" she roared, her voice cracking. "Maybe you have forgotten what happened last night. Let me remind you: You barged in here uninvited!"
"Nah," he denied it straight away, feigning innocence. "Didn't you open the door yourself?" A playful smirk tugged at his lips.
Esme's fury was rising. She wished she could smack across his face. This wasn't a joke. The audacity of his smirk ignited a fire in her gut. How dare he try to manipulate her? "Don't even try that. Get. Out. Now," she snarled, each word a venomous hiss.
