Chapter 6 - Ghost? Are You Talking About Yourself?

He finally recalled what happened last night.

It was around 11 p.m. when he headed to the dorm after wrapping up a five-hour shift as a cashier.

That night was supposed to be a regular one, just like any other. But as he strolled through the Faculty Of Art and Design's gate, a memory clicked within his mind. It was a recollection from a top post he had read on the campus online forum earlier that morning.

In the post, the OP described coming across an empty condom box in a classroom during the early hours of a class. They also noted the presence of a suspicious liquid and a peculiar odor lingering in the air.

The comments section buzzed with speculation, and soon enough, people were deeply immersed in discussions about who might be responsible.

And whenever an incident post popped up, there were always a few folks who couldn't resist dragging the prettiest girls in the university into the discussion.

It didn't take long for people to start hinting at Eris and Eleanor.

Supreme_David446: "OP, did you discover anything else? For example, a strand of pink hair 😏"

iShowZex7: "Or a strand of purple hair 👍 😏"

Erianor<3: "You bunch of hooligans! Don't slander my goddesses like that!! There's no way my goddesses would be involved in a lowly, barbaric mortal affair such as having sex in an empty classroom!"

Classiflying~: "You guys are disgusting! How did this post make it to the top? Hey, are there any moderators online? Shouldn't this post be taken down?"

[Original Poster] Aximo505: "[Insert image of radiant, pink hair strand] [Insert image of dark, purple hair strand]"

Supreme_David446: "😳"

iShowZex7: "😳"

Erianor<3: "😭"

The comment section instantly flooded with hundreds of replies, predominantly expressing grief over the fact that their beloved goddesses had been devoured by some unknown wolves.

They never could have imagined that their goddesses, Eris and Eleanor, ethereal and seemingly untouchable figures, were engaged in inappropriate activities in the middle of the night with unknown men in an empty classroom.

With the surge in traffic, the moderator who had just logged in was alarmed and promptly removed the post.

However, by then, a considerable number of students had already come across it, either through reading it directly or hearing about it from their peers.

Coincidentally, the two central figures in this unfolding drama, Eleanor and Eris, were conspicuously absent that day.

For the whole day, the university was in uproar.

...

That night, for some inexplicable reason, Levi, exhausted from work, impulsively decided to visit the classroom mentioned in the post.

He couldn't pinpoint what urged him to go there, but he had never felt such a compelling gut feeling before.

Fate seemed to be on his side, as the security guard responsible for monitoring the entrance gate was sound asleep. Levi discreetly pulled his hoodie lower, donned a cap, mask, and sunglasses to conceal his identity, and smoothly entered the faculty premises.

Once inside, he headed straight for the building mentioned in the post. To his surprise, the door leading inside was unlocked.

Carefully, he navigated the corridors, searching for the specific classroom the OP had referenced – if his memory served him right, it should be on the second floor.

In the eerie silence of the university at night, devoid of the usual student chatter, Levi's own rough breathing and echoing footsteps were the only sounds.

After a couple of minutes, he arrived at the classroom mentioned in the post. Taking a moment to collect himself, Levi took a few deep breaths before sliding the door open.

...

"Nothing?" Levi immediately released a sigh of both relief and disappointment.

He was relieved that there was no one inside the classroom. Afterall, if he was actually stumbling upon a couple that were in the middle of intimacy, it would have been awkward.

As for why he felt disappointed. He didn't know himself.

As he closed the classroom door, intending to leave, he started walking back. However, when he reached the stairway, a man unexpectedly stood in the middle of it.

"Yo," the man greeted him.

From above, he could see that the man was handsome, a gracious smile hanging over his lips.

"Are you the security?" Levi asked, subtly retracing his steps backward.

For some reason, the silent presence of the man unnerved him, and his gut feeling urged him to retreat.

"No, I'm just a student here," the handsome man responded with a shrug.

"If that's the case, it's probably best for us to go our separate ways. You wouldn't want us to get caught together, right?" Levi suggested.

He didn't inquire about why the man was in this specific building, nor did he express any interest in asking the man's name.

"But I think going together might be a better choice," the handsome man replied, a mysterious tone in his voice.

Levi felt a shiver run down his spine, the situation growing more perplexing by the second. "Why's that?" he asked cautiously.

The man hesitated for a moment before responding, "Let's just say there are ghosts in this building. If we were split up, we might end up with a bad ending, just like those characters in horror movies."

"Ghost? Are you talking about yourself?" Levi rambled randomly.

However, much to Levi's surprise, the handsome man's expression began to freeze.

Levi's expression also followed to freeze.

Shit!

What's with his reaction?

Is this man really a ghost?

Fuck, I was just talking nonsense, and somehow, it turns out to be true?

"Haha," Levi let out a nervous laugh. "Let's go our separate ways. Even if ghosts do exist, as you claimed, they can't harm us. But if we're caught by security, the repercussions could be far more serious."

"Adios!" Without waiting for the man's reaction, Levi immediately bid him farewell.

However, the moment he turned and attempted to sprint, both his legs suddenly went weak and limp, causing his body to collapse directly on the cold floor.

Thump!

W-what's going on? Levi was both dumbfounded and scared. It was at this moment that the handsome man's voice echoed again.

"Haha, I didn't expect you to see through my facade so soon. I was hoping we could have a bit more fun together, but it seems you've caught on faster than I anticipated. That's a shame; I was looking forward to playing with you, that way, you can also live a bit longer!" The handsome man's chilly chuckle rang through the air.

"Playing with me?" Levi said, now clearly frightened. "What kind of game are we talking about? Please enlighten me!" he desperately pleaded.

"Too late! You've uncovered my true identity. The fun has drained away. Perhaps next time, you should think twice before rejecting an invitation. Oh, wait, you will die soon, no more invitations for you! Haha! Any regrets now? Do you resent your foolish decision?" The handsome man laughed eerily.

"Hmm, you know, even though I was just born recently, I'm quite fond of human horror movies. Especially those scenes where ghosts chase after humans. The thrill, and the joy of hunting humans like prey! Your fear, your struggles - they add a certain flavor to my existence. I find it quite entertaining."

"But, of course, it won't be as simple as that. While I play the part of a ghost, I'll also take on the role of a supporting character. I'll guide you until you feel completely safe, convincing yourself that your life is no longer in danger. And just when you least expect it, I'll unveil my true identity. Isn't that thrilling? The supporting character you so vehemently relied on turns out to be the ghost you desperately tried to avoid! Hahahaha!"

Levi clenched his fists tightly. So, whether I accept or reject your invitation, it won't make any difference, right?!

"Unfortunately, you won't let me enjoy that particular form of entertainment. But that's fine. After possessing your body, there will be many opportunities for me in the future!"

"Posess my body?" Levi was horrified.

He had somewhat already accepted his impending fate. But if his body ended up being possessed, what would happen to it? Wouldn't everyone be fooled by this psycho ghost?

The more he pondered such an outcome, where his dear family would be deceived by the ghost, the more his resentment grew. His eyes turned bloodshot, and a silent trail of blood leaked out of his lips.

I won't accept it! I refuse to accept it!! Come on, legs, get me up!

"Yes, don't worry. I'll put your body to good use. That way, your sacrifice won't be in vain." The handsome man finally arrived in front of Levi.

His smile, filled with cunning and wickedness, nearly sent Levi into a frenzy.

"Tsk, tsk, blame yourself for being human. What a weak, pitiful creature..."

"Looks like you don't recognize your own creator, malevolent spirit."

"Who?!" The handsome man was immediately alarmed.

"You're a creature born from human negative emotions. If you consider humans weak and pitiful, what does that make you? A mere bug, not even worthy of existence?"

"Impudent! Who are you? Show yourself!"

"Imprison!"
