"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Well, let's get back to the topic, if you don't mind. Why don't we share information about our worlds? It would be great to know about each of your circumstances."
"Mikoto Misaka: Okay."
"Yami: Alright" x2
"Yuno Gasai: Alright" x3
"Inori Yuzuhira: Alright" x4
Misaka didn't believe in this chat room, but she still wanted to hold onto hope.
(Perhaps, just perhaps.)
Yuno was more than happy to share everything about her world; she believed it would strengthen their bond.
Yami had no issue with it; she only shared information about the universe itself, deeming details about a specific world useless.
Inori hesitated a bit but eventually gave in, spilling all the beans.
Yuki also shared about his current world, although he omitted some parts for privacy. He had no problem revealing most of it.
Yuki frowned while reviewing information about each of their worlds.
Among the chat members, Misaka and her current world seemed the most dangerous. As for which world was more perilous, Yuki couldn't say; he still didn't grasp the full extent of this world's power, and Misaka was unsure of hers.
Next would be Yami's, capable of traveling through the universe, proving they were in entirely different universes.
Following that was Inori's world, with technology more advanced than what she knew, possibly even surpassing Misaka's world.
Lastly, Yuno's world, seemingly normal in the early 2000s. It felt odd to Yuki; all members came from exceptional and abnormal worlds.
Yuno's world normal? Impossible!
Yuki sensed something ominous, thinking it might be a dormant threat, putting Yuno's world in grave danger.
(Let's set Yuno's world aside for now.)
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Misaka, your world is equally or even more dangerous than mine."
"Mikoto Misaka: Knowing that doesn't give me any comfort, you know? Also, what did you call me?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Misaka? Is that it? Or do you prefer Mikoto?"
"Mikoto Misaka: Idiot! Where are your honorifics? Don't call me by my name directly!"
Misaka blushed instantly, turning in her bed to calm herself.
Yuki tilted his head, confused. Honorifics? What are those?
While pondering, a flash of realization hit him.
(Oh, those Japanese and their culture.)
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Sorry, Mikoto, but in my world, we don't usually use honorifics."
"Mikoto Misaka: You! Stop calling me by my name!"
Misaka's face turned red as she circled on her bed, trying to calm down.
Yuki, a bit puzzled, realized that Mikoto's world had a different cultural norm regarding names. He decided to call her Mikoto from now on.
"Mikoto Misaka: But I care!"
"Yuno Gasai: Yuki, you can call me Yuno too!"
"Inori Yuzuhira: You can use my name too, although it seems you already do."
"Yami: Same here."
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Thanks, you saved me from several issues. I don't want to call someone by their last name; it's weird."
"Mikoto Misaka: Hey! Are you going to ignore me?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Just give up, Mikoto, the majority has already won."
"Mikoto Misaka: This isn't a democracy!"
After calming Mikoto for several minutes, she gave in, still a bit embarrassed. Yuki thought he should let it slide for now.
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Alright, back to business. Mikoto, I need more information about your world."
"Mikoto Misaka: More? It's not like it's really special, you know? My world isn't a place where everyone has superpowers that can rival Level 4 espers and even have thousands of Level 5s."
Like Yuki, Misaka rated the danger level of Yuki's world very high, even higher than hers. From her perspective, her world was quite peaceful.
Yuki sighed, touching his head. While Mikoto's world might not be dangerous, it was just her perception. Yuki, for instance, exaggerated a bit about the danger level of his world. He had a hunch that there were beings in his world that even the Hokage couldn't defeat, like the masked man.
"Yuno Gasai: Not really, that city of yours is very suspicious, right, Yuki?"
Yuki raised his eyebrows reading Yuno's message.
(She's crazy, but her mind works very well, unlike a certain person with a supercomputer-level brain.)
Yuki sighed again; he could see that Misaka Mikoto was still innocent. Innocence wasn't inherently good or bad; the problem was naivety.
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): It's as you say. I find it hard to believe that there's a city just for students, with 30 years of technology ahead of the world in general, even able to create espers, something that Inori's more advanced world hasn't achieved."
"Yuno Gasai: Hehehe, I was right! Yuki."
"Inori Yuzuhira: I'm curious too."
"Yami: I want to eat."
Unlike Yami, who wanted to eat, Inori and Yuno also suspected that city.
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Your city is suspicious; your enemy's danger level is equal to or even higher than the leader of my village. Frankly, your enemy is very broken; controlling vectors goes beyond any chakra-induced power in my world."
Yuki shook his head, contemplating that power and its danger level.
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Perhaps only the most powerful figures in my world can handle it, or maybe I'm just wrong; there's a lack of information. But there's something more important."
"Mikoto Misaka: Your words make me feel like it doesn't make sense to continue this. Are you telling me to give up? Is that what you mean?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): No, that's not my intention. Maybe your real enemy is Academy City itself."
Misaka looked at the floating screen, shocked. She wanted to disagree, but Yuki might be right. A part of her brain said she should believe his words, another strongly denied it. Yet, Misaka also thought that this might be the reason.
"Mikoto Misaka: Why do you say that? Do you think they deceived me? Would Academy City do this to me?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Everything in your city screams traps and conspiracy."
This message was the last straw. Misaka couldn't help but think she was just a chess piece played by Academy City.
"Mikoto Misaka: What should I do then? Watch as my sisters die because of that guy?! Don't play with me!"
Tears ran down Misaka's face; she felt incredibly helpless. She hadn't felt this weak since she was Level 1.
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Although your world has its problems, I will help you. You're not alone, Mikoto."
Misaka opened her eyes, staring directly at Yuki's name. She felt a profound sense of security in that name, even though she didn't know him yet; something inside her said to trust him.
"Mikoto Misaka: Will you help me? Can you save my sisters?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Of course, I can, though it will be very complicated. I have three ways to resolve your issue, Mikoto."
The chat room fell silent after that message. Each member looked at the screen with different expressions but refrained from interrupting their conversation.
Yuno bit her lip but knew she shouldn't voice her opinion now; she also wanted him to come and rescue her from this predicament.
Yami felt conflicted; Mikoto's problem was similar to hers. Experiments? Traps? Conspiracies? Yami glanced at the floating screen with a mix of jealousy.
(Maybe he...)
Inori calmly observed each exchange in the chat room, her gaze fixed on Yuki's name. If Yuki's messages were true,
(I need his help.)
------
The tension in the chat room lingered as everyone awaited Yuki's response. The gravity of the situation weighed on their virtual discussion.
"Mikoto Misaka: Tell me, what are these three ways to solve the problem?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Firstly, we gather more information about your enemy and Academy City. Knowledge is crucial in understanding how to approach this situation."
"Mikoto Misaka: I'm willing to do that, but what's the second way?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): The second involves finding potential allies or resources that can aid us. This is a complex issue, and having support is essential."
"Yuno Gasai: I like that idea. Strength in numbers, right?"
"Inori Yuzuhira: It sounds reasonable. We shouldn't face this alone."
"Yami: As long as it doesn't interfere with my mealtime."
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Glad to have your agreement. Now, the third way is the most direct but also the riskiest: a direct confrontation with your enemy. We need to assess the situation thoroughly before considering this option."
"Mikoto Misaka: Confrontation... That's a last resort, right?"
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Exactly. It's not a step we take lightly, and we'll only consider it if the other approaches prove insufficient."
The chat room remained quiet for a moment as everyone absorbed the gravity of the plan.
"Yuno Gasai: Yuki, we're counting on you. Save Mikoto and all of us from our troubles."
"Inori Yuzuhira: I believe in your capabilities. We'll do whatever it takes to help."
"Yami: Just make sure it doesn't interfere with my eating schedule."
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): I appreciate your trust. We'll work together to navigate through this. Mikoto, are you on board with these approaches?"
"Mikoto Misaka: Yes, I am. I don't want to lose my sisters. Let's do this."
"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Good. We'll start by gathering more information. Everyone, be prepared for what lies ahead."
The virtual chat room buzzed with a renewed sense of purpose as they collectively embarked on a journey to unravel the mysteries and challenges each of their worlds presented.
