Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Jealousy

The next day, a video went viral on the internet. They didn't know who had posted it, but its rapid spread surpassed even the Apocalypse Virus.

The government made numerous efforts to remove the video, but it persisted like a cockroach. No matter how much they deleted it, it kept reappearing, gaining popularity among the masses.

They named the video 'The Reaper.'

In it, a human, approximately 12 to 13 years old, showcased superhuman strength, terrifying speed, and skills that left many questioning its authenticity.

Some thought it was the start of a new movie, but it was real. A documentary verified that the video had not been altered in any way, surprising everyone in Japan.

GHQ wasted no time and quickly offered a high reward for information on the whereabouts of the individual in the video. Other countries like Russia, America, England, and many more sent spies to find this superhuman.

GHQ, controlling Japan as an isolated zone from the Apocalypse Virus, faced a dilemma. They reluctantly turned a blind eye to the various infiltrating spies to avoid conflict with multiple nations.

As all this unfolded, another video surfaced on the internet, quickly going viral – that of the Undertakers.

"We will continue offering mourning songs to all the Isolated. Therefore, we Undertakers resist GHQ, who control this country as they please... We will fight against everything they try to send our way."

This video featured a terrorist group declaring war on GHQ. What made it more intriguing was that, in addition to showcasing the organization's leader, 'The Reaper' was also present.

This caused another wave of commotion. Initially, some believed the 'Reaper' in the video was fake, a scare tactic used by criminals. However, seeing the 'Reaper' effortlessly lift and throw a car dispelled any doubts.

It meant one thing – the 'Reaper' was real, and he was with the Undertakers.

This had a terrifying effect. Thousands of Isolated individuals rose, seeing hope for the first time. They wanted to be with someone who could destroy a GHQ armed group without a scratch. Simultaneously, a fear rooted itself in the hearts of common people, a side effect brought by the 'Reaper's' power.

Japan now drew the world's attention. First, the Apocalypse Virus, and now a Superhuman. This raised many questions:

Can they still be called human?

Is this a mutation caused by the Apocalypse Virus?

Is it a high-tech robot or a real human?

Is it a man or a woman?

No one had answers, but they knew one thing – chaos would return to Japan.

Meanwhile, the one responsible for all this was currently wearing a small apron, cooking with a small smile on his face.

If the masses found out that the 'Reaper' was now cooking with a smile, they wouldn't know how to react to this surreal sight.

After all, connecting a homey younger brother and a bloody Superhuman wasn't easy.

"Even if you look at me like that, I won't give you anything, you know?" Beside him was a short-haired girl, Tsugumi, pouting as she looked resentfully at Yuki, who just shook his head in response.

Since Yuki first cooked, Tsugumi couldn't forget the exquisite taste. She urgently called a meeting with all the members, deciding that Yuki would now be in charge of the kitchen.

Some reluctantly agreed, secretly wanting Yuki to cook for them, but not everyone was as bold as Tsugumi in pursuing him.

Thus, it was decided that Yuki would only cook for breakfast, while others took turns for the rest of the meals.

Yuki enjoyed this arrangement, similar to Konoha. However, unlike Konoha where Tsunade forced him to feed her due to her fondness for his cooking, here, they seemed to respect him.

"You'll have to wait."

"Hmph!" Tsugumi huffed, turning her gaze away. Yet, the delicious smell made her sneak another peek.

"I've been wondering... How do you know how to cook?"

"Well, I have to take care of my younger brother, so it's inevitable that I had to learn."

"You have a younger brother?!" Tsugumi was surprised, staring at Yuki with wide eyes.

"Yes, why?"

"Oh, nothing... It's just..." Tsugumi was confused. She thought Yuki was an orphan. She looked at Yuki again before shaking her head. It never crossed her mind that Yuki would have a brother, thinking he had escaped from a laboratory and was now a fugitive.

But now, thinking about it, no lab mouse would know how to cook. So, having a brother seemed more believable.

"And... Where is your brother now? Can we meet him?"

"No, my brother is no longer in this world."

"..."

This time, Tsugumi was rendered speechless, wondering if she had stepped on a landmine.

(How could I be so insensitive?)

"I'm sorry." Bowing slightly, Tsugumi blamed herself. She looked at Yuki with eyes of sadness, but Yuki didn't turn to see it. Seeing this, Tsugumi regretted asking the question.

But it was understandable. The fact that he had a brother and was no longer here made Tsugumi look at that lonely figure cooking again.

(What have you been through?)

Even though they hadn't known each other for long, Tsugumi could see that Yuki was a good person. Having a family confirmed this, and perhaps in the past, Yuki had been a sweet and innocent child. After all, he emitted an aura that screamed, "Don't ignore me."

But now, looking at it differently, maybe he had that aura because he felt very alone.

"Don't worry." Yuki didn't lie; the fact that Sasuke was not in this world was real. If Tsugumi misinterpreted it, it was her issue, but Yuki didn't correct her.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind. Yuki tilted his head slightly.

"What are you doing?"

"I... Sorry... A lot." With tears in her eyes, Tsugumi couldn't resist hugging him. She couldn't handle his lonely figure, and tears accumulated in her eyes as she embraced his small body.

Sighing, Yuki turned his gaze.

"We all have a past, tragic or not. Now we're here, so don't worry about that."

"Really? Do you forgive me?"

Tsugumi's gaze was doubtful.

"Of course." Yuki replied, nodding.

"Yay!" Letting go of Yuki, Tsugumi jumped, forming a smile on her face.

"..." Looking at Tsugumi, Yuki now understood that this girl was just playing, but at least, it broke the tense mood.

Not worrying about Tsugumi anymore, Yuki continued cooking. However, there was another problem – once again, a pair of arms surrounded him.

"Could you let me go?"

"No, I don't want to!" Tsugumi once again hugged Yuki.

*Sniff Sniff

(Smells good) With a faint smell of his body, a smile formed on Tsugumi's face.

However, while they had this little act, they didn't notice a figure with pink hair watching them from a corner.

Inori observed each of their little flirtations with an expressionless face, though her eyes gradually lost their light.Simultaneously, a burning flame of jealousy ignited within her.

It was the flame of jealousy.
