Chapter 10: Encounter Again
On the morning of the second day, Zhou Lin walked from the backyard to the front of the shop.
The busiest times at the pork stall were around 7 AM, 11 AM to noon, and before 5 PM.
It was now past 10 AM, and no one was buying meat.
Seeing Zhou Lin come out, Oshima said, "If you have free time, why not go to the teahouse for brunch?"
Zhou Lin checked his watch, "It's already past 10, and there's still brunch?"
"Yes! On Zheng Street, there's an old Guangzhou teahouse. Brunch is served from 6 AM to 11 AM, and afternoon tea is from 6 PM to 10 PM. The tea snacks there are excellent; you should give it a try."
Zhou Lin said, "How about you join me? My treat!"
"No, I can't. Except for that one hour at noon, I'm in the shop all the time."
Zhou Lin nodded, "I understand. How about I get takeout for you?"
Oshima smiled, "That works. I'll save it for afternoon tea."
Zhou Lin left with a smile. Oshima gave directions, and he followed them.
After Zhou Lin left, Oshima arrived at the entrance, and a slender man approached.
Oshima asked, "Did you get a clear look at his appearance?"
"I did! I already recognized him."
"Good! Follow him from a distance, observe where he goes, and whom he interacts with. Remember these details and report back to me."
"Got it! I'm on it!"
After speaking, the man quickly walked in the direction Zhou Lin had gone.
Oshima looked around, then returned to the meat shop.
...
Zhou Lin walked without stopping or talking to anyone.
He knew Oshima suggested brunch to monitor his movements. Oshima wanted to see where Zhou Lin would go and whom he would interact with. As long as Zhou Lin made contact, Oshima would investigate that person until their identity was revealed.
It's not that Oshima lacked the ability; yesterday afternoon, he secretly took pictures of Zhou Lin and handed them over for investigation.
So, this time, Zhou Lin didn't want to cause trouble.
After reaching the street corner, Zhou Lin continued walking.
During the turn, Zhou Lin made a few gestures. On the street corner, there was a shoe-shining stall. The owner was the squad leader.
Seeing Zhou Lin come out, the squad leader noticed the gestures at the corner. He immediately packed up the stall and went to a corner on the street.
Behind the corner was a car. As soon as the squad leader got in, he commanded, "Drive to Old Guangzhou Teahouse."
The driver started the car and drove along the street.
Inside the car, the squad leader changed into a different outfit.
Passing by a phone booth, the squad leader jumped out, made a call, and then returned to the car.
Before Zhou Lin's mission, the captain, squad leader, and Zhou Lin sat together to discuss the operation's deployment.
The squad leader manned the stall during the day, guarding outside the street corner.
Another car coordinated with the squad leader.
The captain waited at Old Guangzhou Teahouse.
This wasn't a coincidence; it was a result of analysis.
Among the vicinity of Zhangshu Street, Old Guangzhou Teahouse was a decent establishment.
Japanese people liked tea, and Old Guangzhou Teahouse served breakfast and afternoon tea, catering to their tastes.
For an outsider, Old Guangzhou Teahouse was the best choice.
Even if Oshima didn't recommend it, Zhou Lin could have gone there directly. Why? To have tea.
Even if there were suspicions, not everyone having tea could be doubted.
So, the captain waited at Old Guangzhou Teahouse, anticipating Zhou Lin's arrival to report the situation.
Midway through, the squad leader called the captain. After receiving the call, the captain arranged everything, waiting only for Zhou Lin to show up.
Halfway through, Zhou Lin noticed someone was tailing him.
Since Zhou Lin acquired surveillance skills, he had over a decade of experience as a reconnaissance agent.
The tail wasn't very subtle, and Zhou Lin quickly spotted him.
