Chapter 7 - Chapter 7- The Alpha's Bane.

However, Linda was unsure of what was going to happen tonight regarding what happened earlier in the day. She still prepared her mind that Klaus was still going to be in pain regardless.

"I heard your father say midnight very clearly," she said as she opened the bedroom after washing the dishes and making sure the doors were locked even though it was an automated mysterious house.

"And that reminds me why was the house invincible to the delivery man"? I think I need to ask Oden about this house". Linda said and made to walk out to go and get her phone.

"Or maybe not! She said as she was about to grab the door handle. "Oden made it clear that he doesn't want anything to do with his son. I have to keep it that way at least until Klaus grows fully enough to decide for himself". Linda continued as she went back and sat on the bed looking at the child sleeping peacefully in the crib.

"Hmmm! I hope you don't fall in love with another human just like your father did". She said sadly.

After lying on the bed for some minutes Linda became bored and decided to bring her phone to play some of the games she learned from Eve, her human friend. But instead, the red blinking button by the side of the bed caught her attention and she stopped by to check it out.

Linda mustered up the courage to hit the red button as she didn't know much about technology and the house has been giving off a tech-mysterious aura ever since they came in.

"I just know that Oden and his wife wouldn't install a bomb in their home" Linda muttered and in a flash, she pressed the red button and a bookshelf came out from the side of the bed.

"Wow, this is incredible. I love this house"! Linda exclaimed in happiness.

She rolled over to the right side to look at the books that were arranged on the shelf.

Most of the books contained study books and some werewolf books.

Seems like they were planning on home-schooling Klaus. She was about to reach for a book she once saw at the state library but was already borrowed by a human.

"The witchfinder and the talking frog". Linda read out with a happy face.

"Finally I can read this book in peace with nobody to drag it with me". She was about to open the first page when Klaus began to cry.

"The damn curse! Is it still there? I knew it! Then what was it about earlier today?" Linda talks in anger.

She tossed back the book inside the shelf not caring to arrange it and jumped down from the bed in anger.

Picking him up she starts singing the lullaby that worked earlier while rocking him. It seemed as if the song started to annoy him this time. In a minute Klaus begins transforming into a wolf with the sword becoming visible and piercing his little spine.

"The fact that you can transform at the slightest provocation scares my little one". Linda said as she immediately dropped the baby back into the crib in a flash.

"I think I need a book on hybrids because I haven't handled one before. You are the first of your kind and I need to know what to do". Linda said, looking over at the open shelf by the side of the bed.

After so many tries she gave up trying to soothe his pain because nothing was working out. She just resorted to singing and rocking his bed and was almost torn to pieces from his relentless struggle in the crib.

"Today is going to be a tough night". she said with a deep sigh as Klaus kept howling on top of his voice tearing to pieces what was remaining of the crib.

It seems as if the level of pain and torture grows as he grows too. The tiny sword also grows as his body grows Linda noticed as she was looking at him. His growth was happening fast unlike a normal werewolf. Maybe all this is happening because he is not a full werewolf and maybe his strength and ability would also be more or less than an average werewolf.

"I need a guide on how to raise a hybrid and a cursed one at that". She said with a sad expression.

Klaus kept on screaming at the top of his voice with no sign of him calming down at all.

After about three hours nurse Linda became tired and sleepy from singing a lullaby that wasn't even working. She sat back on the bed and in a minute she slept off with her back laying flat on the bed.

"I haven't heard from Eve in a long time. Emily asked herself while lying on the bed looking at the unreplied texts.

She has been calling and texting her to know if she has given birth because the last time she saw her she looked like she was due. Could it be that something happened to her? What's this weird feeling I am having that is depriving me of my sleep? Emily kept on wondering while looking at the unanswered text that was staring right back at her.

As bothered as she was, she didn't know her friend's new address because she moved after she was engaged to Oden. And that was the last time she saw her in the neighborhood. But they have been talking once in a while but Even didn't tell her about her pregnancy until she saw her at the mall and she was heavily pregnant.

"Eve became secretive ever since she met Oden. That suspicious-looking man I hope nothing happened to my best friend. I need to first trace and know where she lives then we can talk about why she was not answering her text". She said as she looked at the time to see that she had been awake for two hours and she had to work tomorrow.

She hurriedly went back to sleep at almost 5 am after setting her alarm.

"No! no! no! no!" Emily screamed as she woke up with her body drenched in sweat.

"That is a very bad dream and I haven't dreamed in a while". she said as she was wondering the meaning of the tragic dream she just had.

"Why would I have this kind of dream when I haven't seen wolves in years. Does this mean that werewolves still exist? I hope not". Linda said while contemplating hard on the dream.

She had a dream where a werewolf jumped into her sitting room and asked her to follow him but then she refused because she was scared. He said he didn't mean any harm, that he only wanted to show her where Eve was, and that he would bring her right back but she still refused. How could she trust such a creature with her life?

So she swiftly ran as fast as her legs could carry her to her kitchen to grab a knife. The beast followed her slowly but carefully not to make the tiniest dent or ruin in her house. Although this creature was clearly showing signs of peace and calmness Emily couldn't bring herself to follow this beast as she had heard stories from the past.
