Walking into the bedroom to check on Klaus she saw that he had already woken up but wasn't crying this time.
She picked him up from the crib and carried him to the kitchen to fix his meal.
While she was shaking the bottle to mix the formula and also to reduce the temperature little Klaus started crying and struggling. Linda tries rocking him to keep quiet. But it even became worse to the extent that he started wriggling around on her arm. This scared her and she started running around in confusion.
"I thought it was supposed to be midnight before it started. What's happening? Is he sick"? Nurse Linda asks as she starts checking his temperature. She even went as far as checking his diapers.
Seeing that nothing was wrong with the child she became disturbed. He continued crying to the point that his nails and hair started growing.
"Oh my God, why is this happening?! This shouldn't be happening! Alright let's calm you down" She said as she picked up the courage to grab the fully transformed Klaus while wondering if he was going to attack.
"No! no! no! no! no! She screamed at the top of her voice as the baby became violent howling with his tiny voice.
She stepped back panicking while thinking how best to handle the situation.
After wondering for ten minutes she decided to try singing the lullaby that she sang for him the other night to know if it would work.
By the time she was about to repeat it for the tenth time he slowly started to transform back into a human.
"It worked! You are lucky I learnt this song little one" she said while picking up the baby that was already sleeping on the floor while sucking his left thumb.
"So we not only deal with your scheduled pain but the emergency ones"? Linda whispered in disbelief.
Back inside the room she puts him back in the crib and quietly leaves the room not wanting to wake him up in the slightest bit.
"What just happened"? Linda keeps asking in a confused tone while walking down the stairs thinking about how Klaus transformed in the middle of the day.
"Could it be that Oden's curse has now shifted from midnight to daytime? But thinking about it when he transformed earlier the sword was not there. Could this mean that his father has lifted the curse?". Linda kept on thinking about so many possibilities.
After contemplating for a long time without any possible reason behind what just happened she decided to let things be and watch out for what will happen at midnight.
"It would be a great relief, little one if your father lifted the curse". She muttered to herself in a sad tone while cleaning up the kitchen and preparing the baby's formula since she didn't get to finish it earlier before he started crying.
Oden, lost in thought, did not hear the numerous knocks on the door.
"My lord! my lord! Oden"! Came the voice of his assistant, also the general of the south side.
He was already inside the room after several attempts of knocking to get the attention of his master. Seeing that even calling his name couldn't get his attention he proceeded to give him a light tap on the shoulder.
"How many times do I need to tell you to knock before you enter"! Oden's voice came thundering at the tap he felt on his shoulder that startled him.
"Master, I am sorry but I knocked so many times you did not open. I also called on you but you didn't answer. Which was why I decided to come in. I sincerely didn't mean to apologize to my lord but it was a matter of urgency". The general said, bowing his head in fear.
After some minutes of silence, Oden calmed down and asked him what was the matter.
"My lord, one of the humans who seems to be close to Eve at her former workplace, has been calling and texting her phone. What should I do about her? Sorry to say but if the petty human discovers that she is dead and already buried she would not stop at nothing to try to find out and this could cause a war". The general narrated and silently waited for a response.
"Is she the only human that knows about Eve's disappearance"? Oden asked nonchalantly.
"I don't think so my lord but I think this one is the closest because she has been the only one to notice her disappearance and she saw her the last time at the mall when she was almost due". He replied to Oden immediately as if to say he premeditated on what to answer.
Watching his friend deteriorate by the day broke Edwin's heart as he watched Oden drown in grief.
"This is what happens when you decide to fall in love outside your kind. I never liked that human! If you ended up with our kind she wouldn't be dead by now rather you stubbornly fell for the pretty pathetic human that does at the sound of a bullet. Now look at how wasted you are! I doubt if you can still transform easily if there is a war"! Edwin kept on going in his head while looking at Oden pitifully.
He has no option but to wait for him to answer as he wouldn't dare to touch him again.
He may seem like a wounded lion but he would still be able to attack and Edwin might be a warrior but he was not ready for claw wounds and deep bites to be inflicted on him.
But as minutes passed by it seemed as if the reply was never coming and that Oden had drifted off again. Edwin saw there was no way out of this rather than to call his attention back so he walked to him and tapped him.
He may not be in the right state of mind but he wouldn't surely kill his best friend. "Or maybe he would," Edward said as he dodged his sharp claws.
"I would like to be left alone"! Oden said in fury as he began to transform in anger.
"Suit yourself then"! Edward muttered in a low tone before leaving and locking the door behind him.
Walking down the hallway in anger Edward hears his friend groaning and howling in anger breaking things and turning his chambers into more mess. Because of his grief, nobody has dared enter his room to check up on him recently.
This broke Edwin's heart even more. "I warned you dear friend but you chose to eat the forbidden cherry now see what you have turned into". Edwin said sadly as he kept on walking down the hallway looking back at intervals whenever he heard shattering sounds.
"I hope you recover from this" he kept on talking to himself.
Back at the villa, it was already night when Linda woke up from the long unexpected nap she was taking on the sofa.
"I must have slept off. Oh no! I need to feed Klaus and get him ready for midnight". She said to herself and immediately ran to the kitchen to get the formula hot.
"You also have to wash up so that you can get a little comfortable". She said as she started running his bath in a flash as midnight was fast approaching.
