He looked outside and saw it was dark and went outside towards the training area. It was made for the children of the Silvercrest family to train but there was no one here because it was dark at night since he came here only after his daily meditating and checking if there was someone. He would rather not want people to know about his training. He started with the push ups. After just 6, his body fell down, he tried to push himself up but his body wouldn't get up.
"Sigh"
"Without a martial bone, my body is really weak"
"I am not sure even if it can improve"
He looked at the pending quest and looked at the moon which was shining brightly. It was going to be a long night.
As morning broke, the persistent beep of the phone alarm echoed. Theron silenced it with a sweep of his hand. Rising from his sleep,
'Should I just take a leave today'
He looked at the pending progress of the Training quest and sighed.
================
Quest Progress: Training
Push-ups: 47/100
Jog: 0/20 km
Squats: 0/50
Plank: 0/5 minutes
Pull-ups: 0/10
================
It took him hours just to reach that amount of progress yet he still hadn't finished. By this progress, it might take him serval days to do it.
"Having no martial bone, really makes this really difficult"
"Well, no progress in complaining" He was grateful that he didn't have to do it all at once.
In the classroom, a woman who had the bearings of a teacher and was very beautiful was calling out the names of her students.
"Theron Silvercrest" She called out but there was no answer,
"Theron Silvercrest" She called out again but there was still no answer. So, she looked up at his seat to see that he was not there. Her face had a look of surprise but she stopped and continued her work.
__ __ __
(Back at the Silvercrest mansion)
Theron had sweat all over his body as he was doing push ups.
"98.....99….100"
After it was finished, he fell down to the ground.
He decided to do the jog at night and decided to do the others first. He started with squats and he was able to finish them after 30 minutes. He tired to do planks on 30 seconds each but it seemed that it didn't count as the progress didn't go up so he did them in segments of 1 minute each and was able to finish them with progress.
Only after night approached, he started jogging around near the training ground and used a tree branch for the pull ups. It took him quite some time to do them. After he finished them, he carried himself back to his room with exhaustion clinging to his every step and he quickly fell asleep on his bed.
(The next morning) He woke up from his slumber with the same alarm ringing from his phone. He felt a bit groggy and woke up but he smelt his clothes and realized that he didn't change his clothes the night before. He washed himself and changed his clothes. He checked the quest board.
[Quest Completed]
[Rewards: 3 x random herbs, 10 x Affection Points]
And then the quest board had the same quest "Training".
[Quest: Training(Repeatable)]
He felt a bit of churning on his diantian/core and felt something was wrong so he quickly went into a meditative position to figure out what is happening. What he saw, shocked him. inside his purplish mana core, a bone-like structure was glowing, its light flickering as if struggling against something. He thought of something and controlled mana from the environment towards the core. Most of it was rejected and didn't flow but he was surprised to find that there was at least a small amount which went inside.
He felt like all of it was worth it and lied on the bed and smiled as if he had found a way. It was his martial bone, that he know once he saw it but why was it inside his core. He had so many question but not enough answers. He accepted the training quest again which could be repeated once per day and prepared for school. A tailored dark navy blazer over his white shirt. The blazer, adorned with the academy's emblem on the breast pocket. Paired with it were dark navy trousers and a black tie.
(Inside the classroom) He had arrived at the classroom and opened the door to the classroom but was surprised to see that some eyes were on him for some reason.
'Why are they looking at me'
'They don't usually do this'
The teacher hadn't arrived but usually they would just look away after a glance if it was him.
"Ahem, would you like to step away from the door" He looked back to see a lady with raven-black hair cascading down her shoulders, contrasting sharply with the crisp white blouse she wore. Her knee-length black skirt, paired with thigh-high stockings, added an air of sophistication to her appearance. The ensemble was completed with a pair of stylish glasses perched on her nose. With piercing emerald-green eyes, she exuded an aura of authority that immediately captured attention.
Theron quickly stepped aside and went to sit down on his seat.
'Whew, well that was embarrassing'
"Let us start with the role calls"
Professor Evelyn Ravenwood, the homeroom teacher of their class. She was strict. After the role call, the class started. He knew most of the things taught at school, getting to this class just because of his academic ranking. However, he made sure not to rank too high as to attract too much attention. Even though he knew there would be a butterfly effect since the Theron Silvercrest in his memories was not really academically talented, but he didn't care much about it. What would a ranking in academics which is not even the main focus. The main focus was on combat. Since he didn't have combat abilities, he was only assigned at class A whereas the main cast was on class S.
As for the protagonist, he hasn't arrived yet. He would arrive till one semester later which is half a year later and he would be termed as a transfer student. How he got in, he didn't quite remember but it was because of a person.
'Six months till life at the academy becomes serious and actions after actions and crisis after crisis happens'
'Hopefully, I will have enough strength to face them'
A sigh escaped his mouth but he didn't notice the person who was standing next to him.
"Are my classes not engaging enough for you, Mr. Silvercrest?"
Professor Evelyn Ravenwood inquired, her voice carrying a blend of sternness and curiosity. Her emerald-green eyes bore into Theron, expecting an explanation for his sigh.
Theron blinked, momentarily caught off guard but quickly explained himself,
"Of course not, professor, your classes are quite engaging."
The professor raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Very well, just don't let me catch you a second time" Theron nodded, realizing he might have unintentionally drawn attention to himself. As the class continued, he made a mental note to himself to be more mindful of his surroundings. Classes were only till midday, so after grabbing a bite at the school cafeteria, he brought out a hoodie he had brought from home and started doing his quest at a park near the school.
Due to his mana bone's ability to refine and absorb some mana, his physique improved, albeit only a small amount. By evening, he had finished jogging and pull-ups. He called his driver and completed the rest of his training in his room. At night, he felt the flickering sensation of his martial bone again and attempted to guide the mana. This time, it was a bit more successful than the last, and a bit more mana was absorbed inside.
"People will start to catch on sooner or later," he thought.
Despite looking better and having a healthier physique, it wasn't drastically different, so people hadn't caught on yet. After finishing the training quest,
[New quest has arrived]
[Quest: Basic Swordsmanship]
He saw the new quest which had arrived and accepted it. He planned to do it the following day.
