Nathanael's pov:
She heads towards the edge of the roof then leans on the wall surrounding it. She rests her chin on the arm she laid on the wall and just stares into the distance from where she stands.
"It sounds so far and yet so present to me. What does it sound like to you?" she asks me as I walk closer to her.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean everything; the cars rolling around the city, the winds, the people. Listening to these during nighttime has always felt odd to me," she elaborates.
I, too, rest my arm on the edge of the roof and considering her words I, too, turn to stare into the distance like she does. I take a moment to actually listen to our environment, but not very long, "To me it sounds so close and yet so absent,"
