Nathanael's POV:
"Rosemary? Are you there?" I stand by the door, awaiting a response that will probably never come. Not if I don't insist, "If you're there, please, just show yourself," I call for her again.
I have no other way of communicating with her while she's under the protection of the spell, without Avery by my side that is. I can concentrate my hearing all I want, the only heartbeats I catch are coming from upstairs and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to pin her scent around me either. The only reason I know she's here is because her scent stops near a corner close to the building.
I flash my eyes green only to be greeted by the exact same sight I beheld this morning in this neglected place; the walls, the ceiling, the floor, the boxes… Nothing new, or at least I believe so.
My feet rooted in their spots, I allow my eyes to sweep the space surrounding me, going from left and gradually turning right, very slowly.
