Nathanael's POV:
I stand immobilized in front of the window long after Adeline and Lucian have moved on from their previous spots.
One thought leading me towards another, leaving me with more questions than I could ever hope to answer.
My legs finally obey my commands, allowing me to resume my walk. However, my mind remains busy in remembrance, going over some of my clan members' interrogations. Particularly that of Ava and Avery. I still can't erase the images of their frightened faces from my memory. They both are but children, they should not be put through such trials.
