"Oh, to think I would meet the revered "greatest genius" here." A female voice stated with an arrogant tone from behind.
"May you state your name?" Ray asked as he kept reading his book without even looking back.
'This kid's arrogance is through the roof.'
*sigh*
"You should know how to have respect to your upperclassmen shouldn't you?" She said as Ray heard her footsteps get closer to him and as she was about to use a lethal move on Ray he said.
"Let's take this outside, you might destroy the precious books here." Ray said as he looked back to see a blue haired woman with slightly golden eyes like Ray's and she had a familiar aura and face.
"Haha, Ray it's been a long time you don't have to be so serious!"
'Do I know her? Wait that blue hair, golden eyes like mine, and that carefree personality.'
"Elaine?"
"Yes!! Why did you say that as if you weren't sure it was me?"
Elaine thinks of Ray as a close friend while Ray just thinks of her as a burden due to her carefree personality, Elaine is also a Genius but not as a mage but as a knight other people even consider her as the reincarnation of the legendary "Paladin" a being that uses pure divine power and has the same rank of divinity as a saint or saintess.
"So, how are you?"
"Don't try to change the subject! You forgot who I was for a second didn't you?"
"Yes, I did." Ray said immediately without even trying to hide anything.
"What?! Why didn't you try to defend yourself by saying you didn't or something?"
"No why would I do something like that if you have the "sword of truth"."
"You knew?"
"Of course I did it would be more suspicious if I didn't since that thing is oozing so much mana, as expected of a heroic artifact."
"What? Don't you have a heroic or above artifact?"
"N-no"
"Then that must mean you're jealous aren't you?" Elaine laughed as she took out the sword of truth and teased Ray even more.
"You do know I could instantly extract the Divine power from that don't you? And my body won't be destroyed since my main Element is Sun." As Elaine heard this she hurriedly put the sword of truth back to its sheath which was also a heroic rank artifact which prevented any third party to do anything about the sword in it excluding the owner.
"But I wouldn't be able to do that anyway since the sword of truth has an ego."
"What? The sword of truth has an ego?"
"Are you fr? You're the owner of the sword yet you don't know that?"
'Fr? What's fr?'
"Well I didn't know it had an ego since no one told me about it."
"But anyway sorry for disturbing you, Ray I have to go now because of an assignment."
'She's definitely gotten more disciplined.'
"What's the assignment l? Maybe I can help."
"It's just to get rid of a couple mutated wolves on the "Dark Forest" because the pack is getting close to the city and there's been multiple reports that people have been either injured or even killed by them."
"The Dark Forest? They're sending a student and not even a cadet to deal with monsters in that place?"
"Well I have some people with me and the combat professor at the academy helping us as well."
"Then can I join you guys I want to test out a hypothesis that I have about my power."
'His power? What could it be that he's so willing to go with us.'
"Fine, but don't be a burden to us."
"You already know that I won't."
Then the Ray stood up from his chair and both of them got out of the library to go back to Elaine's group.
"Hey!! Everyone! I'm back." Elaine shouted as she waved at four people that seemed to be her group.
"Oh Elaine, what took you so long didn't you leave to find a mage to help us with this?" The professor with Elaine asked.
"Yes! Here he is, he's known as the greatest genius in the empire, Ray Grandfell!" Elaine said as she introduced Ray to the group.
"What?! The actual Ray Grandfell?"
And then as one of Elaine's friend said that Ray started to radiated a golden light as he started to levitate.
"What's happening to him suddenly?!"
"Stay back, he's currently in the middle of breaking through a major rank he's most likely forming his 4th circle right now." The professor said as he stopped the group from getting closer to Ray.
'What a monster, he broke through a major rank while walking? He's the real deal.'
*sigh*
"I'm sorry about that." Ray apologized as he finished forming his new circle.
"Young man, may I ask which circle did you form just now?" The professor asked.
"Oh it was actually two circles, the 4th and the 5th."
"What!?" The Professor shouted dumbfounded at what he just heard.
'This is the first time I've heard a mage go up two circles in one go!'
"Are you actually the real Ray Grandfell! May I have an autograph!" One of the girls said as she handed out her sword to him.
"Of course." Ray said as he took the girl's sword and signed it.
"Can I have an autograph too!" The other two girls asked Ray as well.
"S-sure."
"Guys stop! You're overwhelming him right now, he just became a middle rank advanced mage."
"Mind your own business, Elaine." Both of them said as they looked at her.
"..." Elaine had no words to say.
"Don't worry Elaine it's just an autograph." Ray said as he proceeded.
"Anyway shouldn't we hurry to the Dark Forest?" Elaine asked.
"Sure." Ray answered as he finished signing the other two girls swords.
'What's bothering me is that they wanted me to sign their swords? Why the swords?'
Then the 5 of them hurriedly ran towards the dark forest while Ray flew.
'I wish I just became a mage instead of a knight.' The professor thought to himself.
"By the way, mister Ray we haven't introduced ourselves yet right?" One of the girls asked as they looked up at Ray flying.
'Now another thing bothering me as well is that the group are all female except for the professor.'
"Yes you haven't."
"Oh apologies, my name is Lisa I don't have a family name as I'm not a noble."
"And my name is Pear Frausk."
"Pear as in the fruit?"
"There's no fruit named Pear though?" Pear asked confused.
'Oh I forgot Pears don't exist here.'
"I-it's nothing."
"Then my name is Jane Dragrell."
'Wait this girl...I used Heavenly eye on the other girls and they weren't anything special but this one has...the blessing: Sword genius, Dragon Blood?'
'And I also saw Elaine's status she had the blessing: Paladin and Sword Goddess so she will definitely become the strongest knight in the future.'
'But Jane's Blessing, Dragon Blood threw me off that blessing is supposed to be very rare and mostly appear on mages.'
'The Professor didn't introduce himself, that's weird.'
"We've reached the territory of the Mutated wolves but I'm more relaxed now since we have a 5th circle mage with us here." The professor said as they reached a part of the dark forest that seemed to have a mysterious energy.
'This energy is neither mana nor Divine power, this is...demonic energy!'
"Everyone run! The wolves aren't mutated ones their demonic wolves!" Ray shouted as he used levitation magic on the 5 of them to speed up their movements.
"Couldn't you just reinforce our speed?"
"Oh, I didn't think of that."
"But this is better."
'These guys really aren't normal people if they were, they would be screaming for their lives right now but they're quite calm.'
"Guys I'll enchance your strength and speed to fight the demonic wolves and I'll help you guys as well." Ray said as he dropped the 5 of them and went to the ground after enchancing their stats.
"What's this?! I feel so much better!"
'Multiple support mages have used support magic on me before but that kid's magic is more potent that even that of a 6th circle mage.' The professor thought to himself as all 6 of them rushed towards the wolves.
As the knights fought off the wolves Ray, used a newly unlocked spell, Sun Beam.
"Everyone get out of the way!!" Ray said as he ounted his finger towards the wolves and a bright red laser came out of it.
"He didn't even do an incantation on such a powerful spell!" Elaine shouted while the other girls were stunned at the sight.
'Shit! I didn't get to use it's full power since I couldn't charge up that won't be enough to defeat them, but the professor should be enough to defeat them why was he acting like he couldn't before? Don't tell me his...'
And while Ray was expecting the wolves to still be alive when the smoke from the sun beam dissipated he saw no wolves at all as if they turned to ash.
'They died faster than I expected.'
The Professor grinned as he saw Ray's power.
"You will be a great offering to the great demon God!!" The professor shouted as she choked Elaine and stared at Ray.
"Hah! I knew it."
"A Demon God Worshiper, so that was why there were no other monsters in the dark forest attacking us."
