Chapter Eleven: New Discoveries - Unveiling the Ghoul's Sinister Origins**

Location: Zulum City

Serenity District

In the dimly lit corridors of the Grins' camp, the bustling heart of medical activity within Zulum City, Wayde Baxter found himself navigating a labyrinth of hope and despair. The Grins, known as the custodians of health, held sway over the city's medical needs, their white coats and stethoscopes symbols of solace in a world ravaged by chaos.

The grims camp, a makeshift hospitals, advanced research labs, and the constant hum of medical activity created an atmosphere of both hope and desperation. It is here, in this world of healing and inquiry, that the truth about the ghouls would be unveiled Today, Wayde's mission led him into their realm, where the promise of a revelation that could reshape the city's understanding of its greatest threat awaited.

Wayde's purpose was clear. He was here to retrieve a report, a document that held within its pages the answer to the question that had haunted every inhabitant of Zulum City. What were the ghouls? How had they evolved from mindless monsters into something more sinister? And most importantly, what threat did they pose to the city's fragile existence?

As Wayde made his way through the camp's bustling corridors, a lot of questions flooded his mind. He had fought this creature for so many years and each time the results of the test came out, it was always the same thing but today, he felt really unsettled and disturbed about what the outcome of the results was going to be.

In a small, dimly lit room within the Grins' camp, Doctor Jardin who was wearing a surgical gown with tie-back or bouffant-style cap to cover their hair, a face mask, latex gloves and clog-like rubber theatre shoes like someone ready to carry out an operation.

In front of him was a large table, on it was the dissected body of the ghoul, different surgical instruments, a microscope and some documents.

Doctor Jardin, you have a visitor". Arielle, the personal assistant of Jardin announced as Wayde entered the camp.

"You're here early". Jardin said still focused on the microscope, he seemed to be deeply engrossed with what he was doing.

"Yeah, I didn't have much work today, so I decided to drop by early." Wayde lied, trying to hide the real reason behind his early visit.

"About what happened the other day at the camp meeting, I..."

"It's fine, you don't have to explain anything to me. I understand where you're coming from, but sometimes I wish you could be more open-hearted and not let too much power control your mind," Wayde advised.

Even though Jarden and Wayde always had something to fight and argue about, and even though they didn't see eye to eye sometimes, out of the members of the Five Order, they were the closest and always had always been the closest.

"I need you to come and look at something," Jarden implored. Wayde went over to where Jarden was standing and took a close look at the specimen under the microscope slide.

"I want you to look closely, tell me what you see," Jarden said.

"It's an organ," Wayde replied after observing it for a while.

"Look closely, what organ is it?" Jarden hinted.

"It's a... heart," Wayde stuttered.

"Exactly," Jarden said, dropping the bombshell.

"Impossible, it can't be true! How could these monsters possess human organs?" Wayde asked, already turning pale.

"Calm down, Wayde. I'll explain everything to you," Jarden said as both men sat down in the chair.

"We've been studying this monsters, the ghouls for so many years now and have known them to be Mindless, ravenous, and seemingly impervious to traditional weapons, they had haunted the outskirts of Zulum City, a relentless reminder of the world's post-apocalyptic descent into madness. Their attacks had taken a toll on the city's inhabitants, leaving scars both physical and psychological. But recently, something had changed.

After a while, we started noticing that the ghouls were exhibiting behaviors that defied explanation. They had shown signs of intelligence, employing strategies, and even hints of human-like emotions. It was a development that sent shivers down the spines of those tasked with protecting Zulum City. We finally cone to understand why this monsters bear so much similarities to human being, its because they  possess human genes.

We suspect that  the Tower had conducted, an experiment with the goal had been to create super-soldiers, individuals capable of surviving and thriving in the harsh post-apocalyptic world. But the experiment had gone horribly wrong.

For years now, we've conducted various tests and experiment of our own on this create but we never found any sign of intellect or human characteristics but the last body you brought, there was something different about it and we dug deep until we finally figured it out.

Wayde, you know exactly what this new discovery means to the people in the entire Zulum city". Jarden asked after putting an end to his analysis.

But Wayde didn't reply, he felt like his heart was about to explode out of his chest, his terror making it impossible to breathe.

he was in a complete state of panic, his hands were cold and clammy and his legs were wobbly with fear.

"Wayde are you all right". Jarden asked after observing the uneasiness in Wayde's behavior.

"Yea, am.....am fine please continue". He managed to say.

"I understand that out of everyone living in the whole of Zulum city, you're the one that  will be most affected by this new development but  I just hope that you'll be able to make the right decision....

Wayde was lost in thought as he stepped out of Jarden's holding the documented report with him. He was still in shock, unable to believe what he had just heard.

Even though he knew that it wasn't impossible to mutate humans and make them into monsters, he still didn't want to believe it.

For years, it was believed that there was no life outside the walls of Zulum, they believed all the last survivor's of the tragic incident had all taken refuge in Zulum but now, he realized just how wrong they were. Anger, despair, and a profound sense of betrayal gripped him as he realized the extent of the Tower's actions and their implications for Zulum City.
