Chapter four: The Fight Against the Ghouls - Valley of skulls**
Location: Valley Of Skulls (Zulum's cemetery )
The graveyard, Wayde's go-to spot for clearing his mind, held an inexplicable allure. Among the departed, his worries melted away, replaced by a calming certainty. Every insecurity vanished as he breathed in the ancient air.
Whenever Wayde ventured into this realm, he relished the solitude it offered. The graveyard exuded a serene energy he craved. But tonight, an unexpected twist awaited him – he wasn't alone. Echoing voices called out his name, beckoning him to acknowledge their presence.
And there he stood, once again facing the grave of Jaggex, a cherished comrade and brother. Jaggex's passing left Wayde unsettled, a nagging feeling that he could have done more to save him, a moment of hesitation forever etched in his mind.
News of a ghoul attack reached Wayde's ears, prompting him to arm himself and join his fellow Outlander's. They swiftly took their positions, ready to confront the approaching monstrosity. Fierce and relentless, they unleashed a barrage of gunfire.
Their battle was fierce, their victory seemingly assured. But as Wayde turned away, a creeping unease gripped him. He glanced back, only to find the monster's lifeless form shrouded in doubt. Something wasn't right, just as the monster lay motionless, Wayde's heart skipped a beat. In the blink of an eye, the creature vanished, reappearing a few kilometers away, ready to strike with unyielding force.
In that crucial moment, uncertainty gripped Wayde. Paralyzed, he stood frozen, unable to utter a word. His body felt numb, as if encased in ice. But before he could comprehend the unfolding tragedy, Jaggex, his loyal friend, lay lifeless on the frigid ground, having selflessly shielded Wayde from the fatal blow.
The other members of the Outlander's, returning to the city, sensed the gravity of the situation. Swiftly regrouping, they rallied together, determined to bring down the monster once and for all. Their combined strength and unwavering resolve ensured the creature met its final demise.
In the presence of Jaggex's resting place, Wayde made a solemn vow. From that day forward, no matter the challenges or the onslaught of ghouls, he would never repeat the same mistake.

Location: Haven Heights(Outlander's Residence)
"Its been a few days since Jaggex died and still, wayde hasn't been able to get over it yet, he's still at the valley of skulls". Zaiden said as the others agreed.
"You're right about that but we all know that out of everyone here, Wayde was the one closet to him so, it'll take a little longer for him to fully recover". Ludex replied.
"He was severely injured from the last fight but still hasn't agreed to receive any treatment. If he gets any more of those scares then am afraid that in the future, no one will agree to marry him." Rivo revealed.
"If no one agrees to marry Wayde, then I'll marry you instead. Giyana said as the all except Marlow burst into uncontrollably laughter.
"What's so funny guys, did i say something wrong". Giyana asked still not getting the reason behind their laughter. She was really serious about what she had just said but her comrades were too busy taking it for a joke.
"No offense Giyana, but it is impossible for you and Wayde to ever get married . It isn't because you're not good enough for him but its just that we all know Wayde to be someone who has committed his life to fighting this monsters and protecting Zulum City and so, he has a lot of responsibilities falling on his shoulder but if in the future he decides to get married, he still wouldn't choose you". Rivo explained.
"I dare you to say that that again". Giyana said, slowly taking her knife from her back pocket. Her eyes already bloodshot red with rage.
"Wait Giyana i.....i didn't mean to upset you. What i meant to say was even though Wayde us more powerful and very intelligent, you can't deny the fact that am still more handsome than he is". Rivo boasted , giving Giyana a side wink.
"You're right, you do look handsome, very handsome enough to die by my dagger and be buried six feet under the ground". Giyana shouted at the top of her voice, attacking Rivo with her dagger which he dodged and immediately ran out of the camp to avoid the Giyana's.
"Come back here you loser, am not done with you with you yet". She shouted after Rivo but he was already too far gone to hear her screams. The other members of the Outlander's burst into laughter as they watched the two argue
This were moments the Outlander's cherished the most because it was one of the few chances they had to to sit and laugh and sometimes tease each other. It was the only part of humanity that was left in them.
