The sliver moon hung low in the star-studded sky, casting its ethereal glow over the dense woods below. Its light illuminated the path for Klaharn and Sirsi as they ran hand in hand, their breaths coming in ragged gasps. Behind them, the baying of hounds and the distant echo of shouts spurred them on, their pursuers closing in.
Klaharn's mind races as he searches for a way to evade their hunters. Suddenly, a plan formed in his mind. He turns to Sirisi his eyes determined. "I need you to hide here. I'll take care of them."
Sirsi nods, her eyes wide with fear. "Be carful, Kla."
With a reassuring smile, Klaharn leads Sirsi to a concealed spot behind a thicket and gently urged her to stay hidden. "Stay here until I return," he whispers, his voice barely above a breath.
Then, without another word, he disappears into the night, his steps silent as he stalks his pursuers. The moonlight dances around him, casting long shadows that stretched across the forest floor.
As he approaches the hunters, he could hear voices growing louder. They were getting closer. With a swift, silent movement, Klaharn emerges form the shadows, his blade glinting in the moonlight as his sliver orbs glows like a wolf's eyes.
In a flurry of motion, he struck, his blade finding its mark with deadly accuracy. The hunters fell one after the other, their shouts silenced by his swift and silent hand. When the last of them lay still, he took a moment to catch his breath, his heart ponding in his chest.
Returning to Sirsi, he finds her waiting anxiously. "It's done," he said, his voice steady but filled with urgency. "We need to move quickly,"
Together, they made their way through the woods, their pace swift and purposeful. Finally, they arrive a nearby village, its lights twinkling in the distance.
As they enter the village, they are greeted by the night market blubbing with activity and heavenly aroma of fresh baked goods and cooking meals. Klaharn felt a sense of relief wash over him. They were safe, for now. But he knew that their escape would not go unnoticed for long.
Sure enough, as they sought refuge in the village inn, news of their escape reached their master. Word spread quickly, and soon their faces where on every notice board in the every village, town and city.
Klaharn and Sirsi knew that they could not stay long. Their journey was far from over, and they would need to continue their quest to freedom, but for now, they were safe, and that was all that mattered.
