Moments later they were dragged back by the soldiers as the reporters were having a field day capturing images and speaking amongst each other. I was a little worried about the questions that would come my way but I steeled myself. Once the elites were dragged away the entire room became silent as I stood there, looking at the elites until they disappeared.
Seconds later I turned back to the crowd.
"With that out of the way I suppose we enter into the question phase of the conference. Please be orderly and civil, there will be chances in future to ask for interviews if i don't pick you."
From there several reporters raised their hands and stayed civil, unlike the major media in the past. Getting to this point I selected one of the women near to Rebel News. She seemed rather nervous and stood up, soon beginning her question, with a Russian accent.
"Emelia, it is fair say that you are against corruption, if may ask, why have you done this so suddenly without revealing these specific people?"
"If you want to speak Russian we can, please state your full question in Russian and i will try my best to translate to everyone else."
"Ah! Okay, I was asking whether you hatred of corruption was a main cause for this major raid and if that influenced your choice to reveal these 'elites' after the raid in stead of before."
"For everyone else she has asked me if my hatred of corruption caused me to act immediately instead of after revealing these people to you all."
Everyone was a little stunned that I could understand her but quickly recovered and waited for my response. The woman herself was amazed at my malleability when it came to language, with the help of my Omnilingual ability it made me sound like a natural speaker.
"To answer your question-" This was in English, "Yes and no, it is not that simple. Corruption is something inherently detrimental to society and needs to be maintained to the lowest levels it can be... However that was not the only influence on the order i did things in. There was the possible alien threat, the economical threat to multiple different nations and also the political threat to numerous countries around the world, including Russia."
There was some questions shouted from the back but they soon calmed down when i stared at them, unhappy. I returned my gaze to the woman who had asked originally.
"The details of this I will release after this conference and it will hopefully explain the reasons why i did it the way I did."
The woman nodded before sitting down, another reporter taking her place as I pointed to them.
"Mr's Emelia, i would like to inquire about a certain piece of information that you said before... You said and I quote: 'my country ran countless operations to apprehend and contain these fowl people', could you please elaborate on the scale of the operations and in which countries you ran these within and if these were sanctioned?"
I maintained my emotional stability as some of my thoughts started to swear at this guy... 'Fucking bastard, i tried to slide that one in... All well.'
"Of course I would be happy to answer those questions."
He smiled and sat down, a pen in his hand and taking notes as he looked at me.
"Over a night time period there were a total of 103 raids on the property of these people. As for the countries these operations were run on, there were countless but mostly concentrated around Europe, North America and Asia. Some countries included were the USA, China, Russia, Japan, Mexico, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Easter Island, Australia and Switzerland."
There was shock over the scale and size of the operation. Numerous reporters were gaping and taking notes as the video recorders easily increased by two times.
"I am a believer in being truthful and in fact have powers centred around such a concept. So please believe me when I say that this was all for the best of intentions. As for if we were given permission to undergo those operations... No, we were not, except in the USA, UK and Japan. Other than that we had to forcefully break in."
There was another round of loud chatter and talking. Some people were a little pissed at my nonchalant nature, others were laughing and agreeing with me. Ultimately it was a cluster fuck. I sighed. This was when several representatives from governments stood up and announced their presence to the crowd.
"We, the countries of the Balkans condone the actions of Emelia Lionheart!"
"Germany stand behind Emelia Lionheart!"
"The UK stands behind The Veritas Imperium."
"The USA condones the actions of Emelia Lionheart."
What happened next was massive as a bald man stood up, revealing himself to be the President of Russia. He walked forwards a little and looked out at me.
"Russia agrees with the USA and UK, we condone your actions." He obviously spoke in Russian but it was quickly translated by the Russian reporter at the front of the room.
The room broke out into a massive cacophony of Ohhhs and WTF's as basically all of the countries present stood up and agreed to my actions. In fact the support was so overwhelming that the reporters were unsure of what to record, me, or the representatives.
'It seems that this turned out well.'
