Chapter 189 - Teaching Lessons to Students

"Master. It is good to see you, how have you been?"

"I have been adequate... Why have you come, i understand that our past Multiverse has ceased to be and that we have moved onto a new one, but there must be something you came here to do."

"I came to inquire if your powers have been affected, especially with relation to a certain dimension."

"Ah, if you are speaking on that, then there is no problem... The connection was broken when the Multiverse ceased."

The students at the side of the yard were blown away by the scale of the conversation, all of them trying to understand the implications of what we were speaking on despite the normalcy of our talk.

"That is good, other than that I came to check in on you and the Kamar-Taj."

"If you wish to see the state of me all you need do is look at me, i am alive. As for Kamar-Taj, why not teach some classes to these students here today?"

I looked over at the thirty person class, their eyes looking at me as I solidly and contemplatively looked over them. A gasp then echoed from the crowd as some of the students began to yell out.

"I-it's the Water Queen! It is!"

There were gasps and whispers between the different students as they put the title to my face and name, excitement bubbling within their heads and hearts. Harry and Hermione were the only ones that were confused and were busy looking at their fellow classmates. I chuckled a bit at the antics of the class, Yao smiling off to the side as she had moved from the entry way of the house to a small gazebo off to the side of the training area.

"It is..."

"She looks so pretty."

"I wonder how strong she is in comparison to The Ancient One?"

I walked forwards amidst their ramblings and hushed conversations, Harry and Hermione looked at me a gulped slightly as they remembered the powers i had when I got them into Kamar-Taj. The group of teenagers in front of me all hushed as i got up to the front of their class.

"Hello class, my name is Emelia, or you can refer to me through the title you have all given me much like my master. Now, i see that your class today was about using the sling rings within your hands now."

Many of the students looked at the golden brass-knuckle looking object in their hands, some of them nodding, others staying completely silent.

"These items are an essential piece of equipment for a sorcerer as it ensures that no matter where you are on Earth or else where you can come back to where you wish to, so long as you have not encroached on a collapsed Dimension."

A few of the students raised their hands, much like students within a regular school. I pointed at one and gestured for him to speak, a gesture shared by all teachers, the meaning being conveyed to the students before entering their first class.

"Miss Emelia, what do you mean when you say they can bring us back?"

Other students in the class watched on in interest and intrigue as they looked at me for my response. 'Teaching is surprisingly fun...' I looked over at my teach and smiled a little, her hand raising a cup of tea as if to spur me on before bringing it back to her lips.

"Well, why don't you come up to me and i will show you."

The young man was a scrawny looking sixteen year old with long limbs and a fairly ashy complexion from working in the sun most of his life, his skin was ebony for the majority that wasn't ashy and had several freckles over his face. He walked up to me and handed over the sling ring a little sheepishly. I took the object calmly and serenely smiled at him before turning to the side, placing the ring on my right hand and moving my hand in a circular motion. In a literal second an orange glowing portal appeared, leading to the top of the alps where my final training was completed.

The students were glowing in surprise and happiness at being able to learn this awesome ability and use these awesome items. I turned off the portal and handed the sling ring back to the young man before lightly gesturing for him to join the rest of his class.

"This is the ability i was speaking of. Now, do not think that this power comes lightly and can be used for any purpose... Magic is to be used sparingly in case you need to fight, aid or defend you and your friends."

They all seriously nodded, especially Harry who had a glint of determination in his eyes. Feeling they were fully aware of the dangers and responsibilities I changed my tone to a lighter one.

"That being said, magic is a supreme power of change and goodness, as well as Evil, you all are destined to fight the unfair and improper use of magic against Earth. So, i will show you what magic can do in some of its more mortal extremes."

I could sense Yao immediately perk up in curiosity, at least emotionally, as she watched me like a hawk but seemed as if she was simply drinking some tea. The students were blown away at the possibility of seeing some grand magic.

{Aquanomos Gravitas}

The surrounding air became completely still as it lit up like fireworks whilst simultaneously snowing. Fire and water was balanced superbly and not only that, it was slowly reversing in direction, heading upwards towards the clouds. The spell wasn't finished however as quickly the entirety of the top of the dome filled with liquid fire and water that strove to eat each other. Then i snapped my fingers and the fire and water changed into a massive light and darkness that strove to eat each other. Another snap and it became blood and Ichor, then fluffy clouds and divine light. Quickly the display was stopped by me as it all vanished and fizzled into a large gust of downwards wind.

The student's robes were tossed and turned, the wind pressure causing them all to close their eyes and some of the girls to scream. I laughed quite a bit as the wind didn't touch me or Yao. Yao was a bit stunned at the breadth of my power since we had last met but was totally calm on the exterior. 'Typical of master...'

Finally peace was restored and I began the lesson in earnest, guiding them through some of the most simple movements and concentration katas to allow them to summon the portal. Hermione was the easiest to teach for me as she seemed to soak in all magical knowledge like a 1000 year old dry sponge that just got its first taste of water in all those years. Harry was similar as, with the proper training of Kamar-Taj and Yao, he was taking his studies seriously, unlike in the movies. I didn't focus specifically on them however and guided the other students through countless exercises meant to strengthen their magic, concentration, spirit and maturation. Much like me in the past they were all somewhat Naïve and jumped from thing to thing without consideration of the first action and its consequences.

I was genuinely enjoying myself training these young men and women, they all seemed to be benefiting from my knowledge and experience and were everything but angry or resentful for it. I felt some weight finally come off of my chest and i took a deep breath.

"Miss? Are you okay?"

"Yes, don't worry, i am fine, just enjoying the air in this place for the first time in a long time."

"Okay..."

The young woman turned and continued to try and summon the gateway, getting halfway there several times.

"You need to slow down, it is not a race, only in getting it right will you find proficiency... Don't speed up when you are barely just touching it."

"Yes miss."

The training continued far into the evening where after four hours of class we finally decided to call it there, me saying my goodbyes to the class as Yao came up beside me.

"You do well with children... You will do well with your own."

"Thank you master, i do not know how you do it but you have seen through me once again and helped me in a way i did not think i currently needed."

"Enough of that, all i did was show you your worth, the worth of anyone really... Spreading knowledge to the next generation and sharing in kindness. Now. If you are done I believe there is somewhere i must be."

"Yes Master... I wish you luck in your endeavours and please do not hesitate to contact me about any issues you may run into."

"Always Emelia."

And with that she disappeared into a quickly summoned orange portal to wherever she needed to be. I stayed behind for a little longer, looking at the moon hanging in the sky as the low pitch of countless bugs and creatures of the night blossomed in my ears. Life was hard, but it wasn't inherently evil or good, it just was and needed effort to thrive in. With that train of thought I went back to Atlantis.
