Chapter 10 - Same world and different lives

As a normal human being it is normal to feel ungrateful sometimes for the life that we are living. We compare our lives to our relatives, friends, colleagues and the lives of other people and complain about it. The Creator of this universe didn't create us to live the same life. Everyone's life has different challenges that they need to overcome.

Some challenges faced by people are fiancial struggles, health issues, career and job challenges, relationship and social issues, educational barriers, stress and time management, identity and purpose, personal growth challenges etc.

Now let's look back to the lives of the Palestinians from October 7th of 2023 to the present. Ever since the bombing started millions of children have been displaced, killed, orphaned and some suffered a lot due to the feud. 105 children lose their mothers per day in Gaza which equals to 3167 children per month and 19000 children every six months. More than 24000 children lost their mothers from October 7th 2023 to January 2024. Data collected from October 7th 2023 to January 2024 shows that approximately 10000 children were killed over nearly 100 days which means that on an average about 100 children have been murdered. Data collected from the day the war started to December 2024 shows that approximately 12000 children are forcibly displaced each day due to the ongoing activities. Nearly 100000 children have disabilities due to the continuous bombing. Some even died with their limbs being apart from each other.

In a world where children get ready to go to school, there's a country named Palestine where schools have been closed for months since 87.7 percentage of school buildings in Palestine have been destroyed and there are barely students there to teach.

In a world where everyone is excited to see the fireworks for new year celebration, exists a country named Palestine where innocent people got killed on the first day of the year.

In a society where everyone waits to graduate and finally settle down in life, there is Palestine where people give up on their dreams thinking that they won't even survive to complete them.

In an environment where people marry the person they love, we have Palestine where lovers get killed even before they get to marry each other.

In a world where UN is considered as a righteous, supportive, kind organization, in that same world there is a country named Palestine where the rights of countless people have been ignored by this righteous organization.

In a reality where people talk about how human rights, animal rights, women rights, environmental rights, children rights and cultural rights are important, in the same reality these people ignore the rights of the citizens of Palestine who have been suffering ever since the war started.

In an era where most children dream of being wealthy and owning expensive things, there exists Palestinian children who want their loved ones back and who dream of peace. They dream of living in a place they can stay safe with their loved ones with no worries, they dream of being able to go to school and living a normal life like other children all around the world.

During this crisis most of the people of Palestine have been living in tents which get ruined easily due to the harsh wind or heavy rainfall. Even in summer these people barely have the access to water. In winter they don't have a blanket to wrap themselves around with. The Palestinians can't even claim their land as theirs and live safely in it. The life of a normal human being like us is the dream life of these people.

During rainy season many people go out with their umbrellas to admire the beautiful environment around them. The Palestinians can't even do that. Their tents which they take refuge in get destroyed because of the rain, the children get soaked and it results in them having fever. In Palestine there are barely any resources to help these people.

Due to loss of life of the loved ones, the Palestinians feel traumatized causing them to suffer from PTSD, anxiety and depression. The constant threat of bombings and military operations often lead to the deaths of millions causing their families to feel this way. Thousands of Palestinians have been displaced due to bombing and military operations often living in overcrowded refuge camps. The blockade of Gaza and destruction of infrastructure have resulted in lack of food, lack of access to clean water, internet being cut off, lack of shelter, educational institutions and hospitals being destroyed making the people helpless. Besides people have even lost their source of income leaving them completely hopeless.

Unemployment rates in gaza have increased and many businesses are unable to operate due to lack of resources, restrictions and damage of infrastructure. Palestinians also face widespread human rights violations including restrictions on movements and limited access to justice. Additionally the healthcare system is pretty much damaged causing it to be almost impossible to recover. The injured people can't even go to the healthcare institutions for this reason.

Hope is a feeling which keeps us alive. It's like a light in the dark, a warm hug that protects us from the cold and a tree that protects us from the rain. These innocent people have been hoping for this war to end and for their lives to go back to normal. And it's difficult to see even little children who are considered as the butterflies of heaven to give up on living. These pure children know that they have no future as they are living in Palestine.

In fact it is truly disappointing how people all around the world are neglecting the condition of Palestine. They have noone to talk about them and their sufferings. What they are facing is something that we wouldn't even wish our worst enemy to go through. It is completely inhumane to think that faultless people should go through such difficulties. After all they are only human wanting to survive and live happily. Their lives prove that they might be living in the same world as us yet their lives are far more difficult and challenging compared to ours.
