Chapter 2 - TRUE COLORS

Tyler's eyes were fixed on the lifeless bodies of Millie and Kyle, his mind reeling in shock and grief. The voice from the darkness seemed to come from a different world, but it slowly pierced through his haze of emotions.

He turned towards the sound, his eyes adjusting to the dim light. He saw a figure chained to the wall, its face gaunt and pale. The voice came from this person, who looked like they had been imprisoned here for a long time.

Tyler's heart was heavy with sorrow, but he knew he had to act. He slowly approached the chained figure, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of danger.

"Who are you?" Tyler asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The figure looked up at him, its eyes filled with a mixture of desperation and hope. "My name is...was...Ethan," the figure replied, its voice weak but determined. "I've been trapped here for...I don't know how long. Please, you have to help me."

Tyler's eyes locked onto Ethan's, and he saw the desperation and fear that lingered there. He knew he had to act fast, but his mind was still reeling from the shock of finding Millie and Kyle's lifeless bodies.

"What's going on here?" Tyler asked, trying to process the horror that surrounded him. "What is this place?"

Ethan's eyes darted around the room, as if he feared being overheard. "This is Valarie's...den," he whispered. "She's been using me...and others...for her twisted games. You have to get out of here, Tyler. You have to escape before she comes back."

Tyler's heart sank as he realized the true extent of Valarie's depravity. He knew he had to act fast, but his body felt heavy with grief and fear.

With a newfound determination, Tyler steeled himself and approached Ethan's chains. "I won't leave you behind," he said, examining the locks that bound Ethan to the wall. "We'll get out of here together."

As Tyler worked on the chains, Ethan's eyes locked onto his, filled with a glimmer of hope. "Thank you, Tyler," he whisperedb. "Thank you for not giving up on me."

Just as Tyler was about to free Ethan from his chains, the sound of footsteps echoed from outside the room. Valarie's voice, sweet and sinister, called out to Tyler.

"Tyler, darling, I'm home. And I see you've found my little secret."

Tyler's heart sank as Valarie entered the room, her eyes fixed on Ethan with a mixture of contempt and excitement. Ethan's eyes widened in terror as Valarie approached him, a cruel smile spreading across her face.

"No, no, no," Ethan whispered, struggling against his chains. "Please, Tyler, don't let her..."

But it was too late. Valarie's hand flashed out, and Ethan's body went limp, his eyes frozen in a permanent stare. Tyler watched in horror as Valarie killed Ethan, her movements swift and efficient.

As Ethan's lifeless body slumped against the wall, Valarie turned to Tyler, her eyes gleaming with a malevolent intensity.

"You shouldn't have come here, Tyler," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice. "Now you'll never leave."

Tyler's eyes were fixed on Ethan's lifeless body, his mind reeling in shock and horror. He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. Valarie's smile grew wider as she took a step closer to Tyler.

"You're so precious to me, Tyler," she cooed. "I couldn't bear the thought of losing you. That's why I had to take care of Ethan. He was going to ruin everything."

Tyler's eyes snapped back to Valarie, his heart racing with fear. He knew he had to get out of there, but his legs felt like lead. Valarie's eyes seemed to bore into his soul, and he could feel her madness radiating towards him.

Without warning, Valarie lunged at Tyler, her hands grasping for him like claws. Tyler stumbled backward, tripping over his own feet. He fell hard onto the cold floor, his head spinning.

As he struggled to get up, Valarie's face appeared above him, her eyes blazing with fury. Tyler knew he was doomed. Valarie's hands closed around his throat, squeezing tight.

Just as all hope seemed lost, Tyler's survival instincts kicked in. With a surge of adrenaline, he managed to break free from Valarie's grip. He scrambled to his feet, gasping for air.

Valarie's face twisted in rage as she charged at Tyler. But he was ready for her. With a fierce determination, Tyler fought back, punching and kicking Valarie with all his might.

The two of them crashed around the room, furniture shattering and candles flying everywhere. Tyler's eyes blurred with tears as he fought for his life.

Just when it seemed like Tyler was gaining the upper hand, Valarie's eyes flashed with a sinister light. She whispered a single word, and the room was plunged into darkness.

Tyler stumbled around, disoriented and blind. He heard Valarie's maniacal laughter echoing through the room, and he knew he was in grave danger.

Suddenly, a faint light flickered to life, illuminating the room in a dim, eerie glow. Tyler's eyes adjusted slowly, and he saw Valarie standing before him, a twisted grin spreading across her face.

"You'll never escape me, Tyler," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice. "I'll always find you."
