Two weeks had passed since the security breach incident. During this time, Miquella had come to terms with his initial anxiety about the changes to the original story. Realizing there was nothing he could do to alter the course of events had an unexpected effect – it drove him to work even harder on his studies and training.
Over the past few weeks, as part of the hero curriculum, Miquella had learned essential life-saving skills, including a general first aid course and CPR training. The course also introduced a physical training regimen. Three times a week, the class would head to the school's gym for workouts designed to build strength, endurance, and agility.
He and Malenia also started their sword training again on weekends or easy days, ensuring they didn't get rusty and further mastering the Iron Stream style. This rigorous schedule had them steadily improving their skills and stamina.
One morning, as Class 1-A settled into their seats, Aizawa entered the room with his usual tired expression. However, there was a hint of something different in his demeanor that caught Miquella's attention.
"Listen up," Aizawa announced, his voice cutting through the classroom chatter. "It was decided you'll be supervised by a three-man team comprised of me, All Might, and someone else."
The students perked up, exchanging curious glances. Sero raised his hand tentatively. "Sensei, what will we be doing?"
Aizawa's eyes scanned the room. "We'll be conducting a special training exercise off-campus. It's time you got some hands-on experience with rescue operations."
A murmur of excitement rippled through the class. Uraraka turned to Miquella, her eyes wide. "Rescue operations? That sounds intense!"
Miquella nodded, a mix of anticipation and apprehension stirring in his chest. "Yeah, I wonder what kind of scenarios they'll put us through." 'So the USJ event is finally happening,' Miquella thought.
Kirishima pumped his fist in the air. "Alright! This is our chance to show how manly we've become!"
Asui put a finger to her chin thoughtfully. "I wonder if there will be water rescues. That would be right up my alley, ribbit."
Mina bounced in her seat excitedly. "Ooh, I hope we get to use our quirks in cool ways! Maybe I can melt through debris or something!"
"Now, it's entirely up to each of you whether or not you wear your costumes," Aizawa continued, "as some of your costumes might not be adapted to the task at hand. And due to the training area being fairly far from here, know that we'll get there by bus." Aizawa then looked as if he was annoyed they were still sitting there and responded, "That's all. Go get prepared and meet me at the front of UA."
The students hurriedly retrieved their heroic costumes and swiftly changed in the locker rooms. After they were all dressed, the class made their way outside, where Aizawa stood waiting for them next to a bus.
As the students boarded the bus, the excitement was palpable. Miquella could feel the energy buzzing around him as his classmates chatted animatedly about the upcoming exercise.
"Hey, Midoriya, I always say what I think no matter what's on my mind. And I've been meaning to say that your quirk reminds me a lot of All Might's," said Tsu, and if one looked at Todoroki, they would notice an expression as if he just had a light bulb moment.
Izuku could only nervously laugh. "Wh-what? Th-that so? Haha, I guess I never noticed."
Luckily for him, Kirishima chimed in. "I don't know, I've never seen All Might get hurt." Kirishima paused slightly. "I'm kind of jealous of your quirk, though. There's a lot you can do with it, and it's flashy too!"
Izuku quickly responded, "Well, I think your quirk is awesome. You can definitely become a great hero with it."
Seizing the chance to join the conversation, Aoyama interjected, "You know, heroics are a lot more like a popularity contest, right? That's why my navel laser is perfect—it's both flashy and strong enough for the pro level."
Mina quickly responded, "Yeah, too bad if you use your quirk too much, your stomach might collapse." Her comment seemed to dampen his enthusiasm, his smile fading slightly. "If we're talking about flashy and strong quirks, you can't forget to mention Todoroki, Bakugou, Miquella, and Malenia."
The conversation continued as the students discussed their quirks and soon devolved about who would become popular heroes with almost everyone concluding that Bakugou would not be popular because despite his powerful quirk he's well Bakugou.
After a while, they finally arrived at their destination: a giant domed building. As the class walked in, they couldn't help but gasp. Inside the building, there were different areas based on different types of accidents and disasters.
"Flood wrecks, landslides, fires—this is a practical training area I created to simulate all kinds of accidents and disasters. Its name is the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or simply U.S.J. for short," exclaimed a voice on their left. All the students turned to see the Space Hero Thirteen, causing both Izuku and Uraraka to start fanboying over them. Aizawa walked up to Thirteen, and they began talking in hushed tones.
"Ugh, that guy is so troublesome sometimes. I guess we have to go with our backup plan for today," sighed Aizawa, who was obviously annoyed.
Thirteen then interjected, "Before we begin, let me say something that I think is very important." Thirteen paused a bit, making sure everyone was listening. "Now, I'm certain all of you are aware, but my quirk is called Black Hole, and no matter what material gets sucked into its vortex, it will turn into dust."
Izuku and Uraraka excitedly nodded, with Izuku exclaiming, "Now that's the perfect quirk for removing debris and saving people from disasters!"
"Yes, but it is also a power that could easily be used to kill someone," Thirteen continued, explaining how quirks today can go awry and how any quirk can be dangerous. "This lesson will serve as a lesson on how to wield our quirks for the sake of human life!"
"Alright, first things first..." Aizawa began but stopped when a low buzzing sound came from behind him. He turned around, his eyes widening as a black mist expanded.
"What is that? Is this some part of the training?" asked Kirishima.
A hand emerged from the mist, followed by a full body, and then tens, then dozens of people started walking out of the portal.
"HUDDLE TOGETHER AND DON'T MOVE! THIRTEEN, PROTECT THE STUDENTS! THESE ARE REAL VILLAINS!!" Aizawa shouted.
