Chapter 1 - Prolog

In a room inside a large, luxurious-looking mansion, there was a young man who seemed to have just gotten up from the floor, the young man was massaging his temples while frowning.

He was Cassian, the owner of the mansion, he woke up from his nap with a severe pain in his head. He felt very confused, the last thing he remembered was that he went into his room to rest after taking care of some important documents about his territory.

He was the successor of Duke Kenway's family and Lord of the Kenways, so every day, he had to sign various documents about taxes and such. He always did that, and after doing so, he would go to his room to take a nap.

But just now, right after he closed the door to his room, he suddenly fainted from an intense headache before he could reach his bed. And after waking up, instead of the headache disappearing, it got even more painful, and all sorts of memories that had never happened to her entered her head.

They felt so real, he couldn't dismiss them as just dreams.

Cassian laughed.

"Hahaha!"

But the laughter soon disappeared, and Cassian's expression instantly changed to one of exasperation.

"Ridiculous."

Because, if according to that memory, he would die in less than 5 years.

                              --------------

After organizing his thoughts, Cassian began planning his next actions in his study, he had his servants bring him tea, and told them not to let anyone disturb him.

Based on his memories, he was living as the person who killed him.

The memories were very vague and hazy, but he was absolutely certain that he was dead. It was so absurd that he couldn't believe it.

The only thing that was clear from the memory was his death. Because he who was in the memory, killed his current self.

He was confused, was the memory just a dream, or was it a memory of his past life. If it was really his past life memory, then why did he reincarnate into the person he killed? Let alone reincarnate to 5 years before he was killed.

Cassian wasn't sure, he also realized that thinking about it was pointless. He had a much more important problem, because if he didn't do something, all the hard work he had put in his whole life would be in vain.

Why? Because the empire he lived in would be destroyed, including the territory he owned, Kenway's territory.

Plus he would also die, so the two were no different, it was just that the problem this time was more urgent than the problem in his mind.

The Empire that Cassian lived in was called the Bolgram Empire, and Cassian was one of the Dukes in the Empire. Of course, he didn't get that position easily. Cassian was originally just a street kid, and he did a lot of bad things to get to where he was today.

Actually, the things he did were not that bad, he just tricked the previous head of Duke Kenway's family into appointing him as his successor with the illusion magic he mastered. After all, the previous head of the Duke Kenway family was a bad person.

Not that I'm a good person or anything, but he was definitely more evil than me.

Based on the memories of the current Cassian, the current Cassian was ruthless, cunning and only cared about himself, and truth be told, that was all true.

Even so he felt that something was wrong, because in the future, based on those memories, he would betray the empire and allow the troops of the enemy empire, Melka Empire to enter the territory of Bolgram Empire undetected.

He did not think of any reason why in the future he would sacrifice all the hard work he had done so far just to betray the Empire and throw away the territory he had taken care of for so many years.

In his opinion, it was not worth it. Because the power between the Bolgram Empire and the Melka Empire was equal.

And so, right after I did that, the me in the memory killed the me in the present.

After his identity as a traitor was leaked, not long after, Cassian was killed at the hands of his other self.

Cassian could remember the scene vividly, under the dark night sky, his other self plunging his sword into the heart of his present self, after they had a violent fight.

Cassian remembered that it was someone named Rouge, a young 18-year-old knight who volunteered after the war between the Bolgram Empire and Melka broke out, he was a man who upheld justice and the true face of a knight.

*Sigh*

      Cassian sighed.

Is this karma?

He wondered, was all this karma from all the things he had done in the past? His usual self probably wouldn't feel like this, but his present self probably had been affected by the other memories inside him now.

Even so, it did not mean that his personality had changed completely, he might have become a little soft, but his priorities remained unchanged. More importantly, he could still change the future.

Based on that memory, in the future only "Rouge" could save the empire and its bloodline. But he didn't care about that, he wouldn't let someone who killed him live, even though in his memories he had once been that person.

Cassian is a coward, which is why he specializes in illusion and creation magic. He was unwilling to fight his enemy fairly, for him, there was no fair fight, no winners and losers. For him, there were only survivors.

Hence, even though this time he would do something different from his memories, he would still kill "Rouge".

He felt that he would not be able to sleep peacefully knowing that the person who could kill him was roaming around out there, although the possibility was very small because he had known the future.
