The next 2 months had passed in a flash. Before I knew it the Nexus Entrance exam was here. Despite training a lot I was still nervous.
Exiting the car I looked at the giant building in front of me.
Nexus, the academy itself is located on an artificial island. However, they have a few buildings located in every city in the human domain. These facilities allow the instructors to conduct the entrance exams.
The building itself was huge and was divided into 2 sectors.
The combat sector was where duels and sparing happened. Then there was the Academic sector where the written portion of the exam took place.
The entrance exam itself was around 2 weeks long. Due to the number of applications, the people were separated into groups. Each group would have a day for their exam to be conducted.
Looking around I saw many youths around my age standing nervous or having an arrogant expression. But I knew most of those expressions would turn into despair when they couldn't get into Nexus.
I then started to follow Amanda and I made sure to keep a bit of a distance between us so no one could tell that we were together. This was my request as I didn't want to stand out however, I'm more surprised Elena accepted but I wasn't complaining.
My reasons for that were simple.
I wanted to keep the story as it was. To be more precise I want the story to be like the original. Even though Elena would live, I still want to salvage as much as I can. However, there were still many factors to my plan.
One is that there were probably extra characters I didn't know existed but more important to this world's plot. But unexpected events could also happen which is why I had to get strong enough so those events wouldn't impact my story.
After talking to the lady at the front desk I was given a number and a pass. Taking the pass I decided to sit apart from the rest of the white lotus guild members but still close enough to where I could hear them. I then started to scroll through my phone while I was stuck in my thoughts.
5 days.
That's all I had until the first real big event happened.
A portal will appear where the protagonist and his future friends and rivals would have to take care of.
Not many high-ranked heroes were here due to demons attacking the other parts of the human domain. This allowed the Titan race to create a barrier isolating some of the city.
But the biggest problem is the drake that would appear.
The Titan race was at war with the dragon race.
The reason itself wasn't exactly complicated in fact it was something children would do a lot.
Pride.
The reason they had an endless war was because of pride. Due to this "pride" of theirs, countless titans and dragons had lost their lives but this also made it easier for the demon king to kill both of their kings.
A drake was a lesser version of a dragon. While it was intelligent it didn't have the same magical abilities that a true dragon has but the main difference was that drakes couldn't fly due to the lack of wings.
And it was due to this that many drakes were cast out allowing the Titans to enslave them.
Now you may wonder how Isaac was going to kill a drake. Aside from his companions, the enslaved drakes were magically drugged with corruption magic which corrupted their minds and sooner or later they turned into mindless beasts with no idea what they were doing.
Due to that their magical output wasn't great and thanks to Isaac's technique he killed it.
"Hey look aren't they from the Lupus clan?"
"Yeah, you're right!"
Looking up I saw people dressed in some sort of coat. But the thing that caught my eye was the wolf symbol on their chest.
Looking at the youths I noticed one familiar figure.
'Oh? So he's also in my group?'
Black hair that was neatly styled to the side, obsidian black eyes that were paired with an extremely and frankly irritating handsome face.
"Oh my god, it's Noah Winslow!"
"He's much hotter in person,"
"You think he's single?"
Turning my gaze back to my phone I started to fiddle with it a bit more. What I was currently doing was cramming.
In my previous life written exams were a bitch so I kind of wanted to focus a bit.
I then felt someone sit next to me and when I turned my gaze to see who it was I was surprised.
Noah Winslow.
'Why is he sitting there?'
Looking around I saw many other seats that were open causing me to be a bit confused. But what made me more confused was him sitting next to me.
However, I went back to cramming.
"Hey you," with a long sigh, I looked up to see a girl glaring down at me "Move,"
This time I sighed internally I got up from my seat and made my way a little closer to the white lotus guild members. As I did I noticed Damian sitting next to me.
"I heard you are staying low,"
"Standing out isn't something I like," I replied back "With your strength, it'd be a waste to hide it wouldn't you agree? Besides won't it be easy for you to avoid them"
"Avoiding the media takes energy and I hate wasting energy," I replied with excuse
"Number 234, 235, 236 and 237…." Getting up from my seat after hearing my number I watched the White Lotus guild also get up. A few more youths also got up and we then followed an individual that led us to a room filled with desks.
Sitting at one of the desks I waited for the exam to start.
The first thing we did was the written exams. Usually, academies give one test that contains all of the subjects but Nexus exams had 5 written tests, one for each subject.
After the watcher collected all of our devices he started to speak "Alright you have around 5 hours," he stated simply "After you finish one package put it to the side,"
He then brought out a bracelet "In each of your desks is a dimensional bracelet that contains a pencil, eraser and calculator. All of your tests are in here as well and when you are done put all of them back in the bracelet and hand the bracelet to me," He then brought out a card "Once you do I'll give you this card and show it to the receptionist then she'll give you a pass for the second part of your exams. If you fail to complete the tests before the time ends then that's too bad. You have to give me your test completed or not"
Seeing that we all understood the rules he nodded before a holographic timer appeared in the air. Despite it being a while since I came to this world I wasn't exactly used to the holograms.
The timer then started giving us the signal to start. Getting the bracelet that was on my desk I poured some mana into it and a few objects appeared on my desk.
'Well then let's get started'
