Lakes often have a refreshing, crisp scent, especially on calm days when the air is still. The cool air coming off the water is part of the charm, with a slightly earthy or mineral-like temperature which may carry subtle hints of algae or aquatic plants—and to an extent, the perpetual smell of lilac.
But in this lake where three factions collided in their pursuit to claim the key object from the unholy casket, only the magnesium scent of chaos could be inhaled through the nostrils.
